I think you’ve got the answer in your question.

He can’t make correct calls after seeing multiple replays. It’s less likely he saw them in real time on the pitch.

I’ve just seen Southgate interview where he was asked many questions about Foden.

Spineless **** is out of depth but it seems he now realises he doesn’t only play on the wing.

All of his answers about tactics are answered with emotional adjectives rather than football descriptions. Very different to Pep. I read he got his first job without coaching qualifications, I’m not sure if he has got them yet.

I know that and I did wonder about that but why would they have different rules in qualifying than they do in the finals? I can find lots of sites that give the criteria as I’ve posted and can’t find any that don’t. Not that it matters.

Now compare this to Uniteds players, this the United squad who aren’t good enough to mount a challenge
Fernandes been excellent, Casemeiro too, even Maguire and Shaw have been among Englands best performers, Rashford scored

Maybe as some of us have always said, Pep Guardiola is the difference maker, not the squad or the finances that our owners have.
Perhaps someone in the media will point this out sometime

Bernardo and Gündogan have both been excellent. Akanji looks great. Stones been brilliant as well. Álvarez has had promising cameos. Grealish the same + a goal.

We all know Foden should be playing.
We all knew Ederson wouldn’t be.

KDB is being misused in a sub par team. Cancelo looks suspect defensively and Dias and Aké have been below their standards.

It’s natural for a few players not to play well moving to a new team with no prep straight into a high pressure tournament, but on the other hand some players have.

Cant ever remember watching a World Cup where pretty much all the top teams look pretty average.

The French and Spain are probably the pick of the bunch so far but both of them are miles off some of the great teams of previous world cups.

Interesting that for years now all the TV stations have had a policy of not giving any publicity to anyone who invades the pitch during a game. They won’t show them, won’t talk about them and certainly won’t advertise whatever it is they are protesting about. If anything.

Yet, despite Qatar TV seemingly adopting the same policy, ITV thought it important that we should all see an image of the protester and a detailed description of everything he had written on his clothing.

Think the tournament’s been decent but waiting for some more really entertaining, high drama, high scoring end to end games where you don’t know who’s gonna win. (Think S Korea-Ghana was but I missed that.)

They all know it mate. There were so so many absolutely desperate for the day he leaves us, and ‘normal service is resumed’.

I’d rather look at your list another way, and say 1) look at the amount of rest some of our players are getting, and 2) of course they are underperforming as they’ve been at it full tilt beforehand (which I guess is kinda the point you were making).

Not really been that impressed with any nation so far. Some nice football played by Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil and Croatia.

Mbappe could be the main difference in my opinion. Bloke is lethal.
