Indeed he helped someone but it’s not exactly what he was shouting about

Letting a law student on a student visa already living in the UK is not exactly housing a refugee coming over the channel on a boat.

That’s what he was proposing, that’s what sparked off his pledge but It’s not what he actually did.

I have no problem with Gary Lineker. I think he’s a decent bloke, but let’s not make it out to be something that it wasn’t in the end.

From memory, a multitude of Twitter users were demanding to know if he’d house a refugee and he showed a photo of a form that he’d already applied to do exactly that, without any ‘shouting about it’ I’ve no idea how it works exactly but I don’t imagine you’re given a catalogue with the option of choosing a nice law student. You certainly can’t just ( legally ) rock up on Dover beach and drag one straight from the boat off to your mansion, as some seem to be suggesting he should do.

No, only told the world on Twitter he was going to house a refugee after a lot of the issues regarding the dangers of crossing water, deaths and prejudice etc.

Then he housed a law student for 20 days that was already living and studying in the UK.

Like I said, seems a good bloke but never actually did what he was insinuating.

So their players haven't had a competitive game for 8 months? I don't see that as an advantage personally. You only have to look at the early European club qualifying rounds where the summer leagues tend to over perform against the winter leagues.

You can choose to interpret if differently, I would argue that a team that has limited technical quality would have best chance of improving by playing together and improving understanding between players.

All friendlies though and meaningless to the teams they're playing against. With the possible exception there of Linfield who would have seen them as a major scalp.

I am getting more and more pissed of with this WC even before it starts.

Its winter its November/December and I am missing my Christmas trip to the Etihad. I just got up to speed with the league, I always struggle with the start of the season ! I was still recovering from the villa game lol.

I am missing City already I am not abit interested in the WC. It's a bloody disgrace it's been allowed to fuck up our league season. I have the same feeling for this WC as I do internationals during the season. A bloody waste of time.

There is no way I can support a team with Maguire and Rashford in. It goes against everything I stand for !

I dont even know when the WC starts or England first game

England's first match is against Iran tomorrow morning.
