2022 World Cup Discussion

No, it‘s not what his haters wanted. He didn’t have to do anything. He chose to help someone.
Indeed he helped someone but it’s not exactly what he was shouting about

Letting a law student on a student visa already living in the UK is not exactly housing a refugee coming over the channel on a boat.

That’s what he was proposing, that’s what sparked off his pledge but It’s not what he actually did.

I have no problem with Gary Lineker. I think he’s a decent bloke, but let’s not make it out to be something that it wasn’t in the end.

He didn’t shout about any of it.

Traditions have to start somewhere!

I think most people would prefer a banger of a first match, like Cameroon Argentina, rather than the hosts, but I guess you are guaranteed a good atmosphere. (Well, who knows what it’ll be like in Qatar)
Abso-bloody-lutely. Can't see this afternoon's game breaking viewing records for an opening game. If there's a decent film on, I probably won't bother with the football.

No, only told the world on Twitter he was going to house a refugee after a lot of the issues regarding the dangers of crossing water, deaths and prejudice etc.

Then he housed a law student for 20 days that was already living and studying in the UK.

Like I said, seems a good bloke but never actually did what he was insinuating.

Video of inside the shipping containers at the fan village. Actually looks quite decent.

Makes you realise how biased the BBC and other mainstream coverage is as well. Thank goodness for amateur reporting to see what things are really like.

I think the host nation always play the first game, and Ecuador is their best chance of a win if FIFA rankings are accurate.
I think Qatar win this, been playing and more importantly training together since March as there league stopped early to allow for preparations

BBC online today showed a vid of the fans camp. £175.00 a night to sleep in a tent and only desk fan to keep you cool. A France fan had paid £2500 up front for the privilege but once he saw what he was getting said fuck that I’m booking into an hotel.
Just seen it on Twitter:

What a shit-show.

Sleeping in a tent...in that heat...with just a fan to keep cool?

Wouldn't be surprised if a few fans ended up in hospital with heat exhaustion.

Looks decent enough and has a fridge
