2022 World Cup Discussion

Biennial World Cup - your thoughts?

I'm not in favor of this at all. I really enjoy the Euros - a biennial WC would almost certainly end this competition.

The World Cup is very, very special for me. A once-in-4-years chance at glory. My favorite tourney by far.

I'm from the United States though - as my name suggests - and local football (i.e., "soccer" as it's called locally) is insufficiently skillful to entice me. I do not watch the USA's Major League Soccer and couldn't care less about my home side's performance in the league (Seattle Sounders).

Going to completely spoil the season. A joke !!
Me - I love international competition and the World Cup is my favorite football event.

But yeah, something needs to be done - top footballers are dragged into club and country matches nonstop - with likely no break whatsoever - leading to unnecessary injury.

Going to be wank. Here endeth my involvement in the discussion.
I hope not Phil1... England (I presume that England is your WC home team?...) has a very strong side. I don't think that they'll lift the trophy - but I wouldn't on the other hand be overly surprised if they did.

My side - USA - on the other hand - is totally wank - but perhaps that's what makes me enjoy the World Cup. SInce local football is horrible (but improving), I watch international football. I'm a huge City fan of course. But for me... the World Cup is special. My favorite tourney still - by far.
