2022 World Cup Discussion

Givens football fans unpredictable behaviour, banning alcohol isn’t the worst idea.
Not sure misbehaving over there will be a good idea, to be honest. You might find yourself getting a flogging. And I'm not on about some old dear in a corset tapping your bare arse a few times with a feather duster, while you're pleading "punish me mistress Mabel, I've been a bad boy". That's what my mate reckons takes place, anyway. Out there, it'll hurt!

Either that, or you'll get your head/hands/dick chopped off!

so they strung the beer decision out right until the eve of the tournament - its a shit show and an embarrassment for the game - it will become a shadow of itself as it will only be able to be passed around Europe - the Continent of America and a few select places in the Far East in future - nobody will go to watch sat in a steam cooker in a country which can have you arrested and spirited away in a heart beat. Blatter and Platini have sent the WC back to square one where it will need to be re-invented again

I’d like to see a World Cup in Australia if they’re carting around here, there and everywhere.

There was no real chance of it all kicking off in Qatar, but this decision should have been made ages ago, not on the eve of the tournament.

Having no alcohol kind of makes sense to me as it’s a manufactured tournament in manufactured conditions which will now have manufactured atmospheres too.

Hopefully, England can “Fight and Win”.

So Qatar has struck back against all the critisism and banned alcohol at the grounds.

Will FIFA learn from this disaster of a World Cup, I very much doubt it as money talks.
What a joke - and that version of 'footballs coming home’ mmm

The beer decision hasn't come about overnight. It was likely always on the cards. Just string the stupid infidels along, get the games, get the money, get the fans booked and then simply pull the rug out from under it.

I bet the TV coverage in some countries will be delighted when Budwiser etc reduce the amount of TV advertising - I suppose the clue at the tournament itself is they have no beer sponsors - plenty of Chinese companies though
