2022 World Cup Discussion

For the bookies for sure.

I dunno. Absolutely loads of games where popular things have happened by the bucket load. These mug punter boosts that get tipped up all over the place have been flying in. A popular site gave a 100/1 out on the last England game.

Argentina's potential route to final: Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland, Australia, Netherlands, Croatia.

Even with that run of fixtures, had they not had Messi they arguably would not have got out of their group.

Croatia on the other hand despite their resilience, have only won one game all tournament and that was against Canada.

Cannot see the winner coming from that side of the draw. It would cement this World Cup as an exciting and enthralling watch, but ultimately devoid of real great team quality.

Even if France won it back to back I still believe this World Cup to be quite lacking in great quality.

The France side from 98 to 06 would dominate this French team. How many from this current crop get in those teams from that era?

Thuram, Desailly, Deschamps, Anelka, Viera, Petit, Zidane, Henry might get in this team. Better argument imo.

American journalist who was detained in Qatar for wearing a rainbow shirt is dead. His brother is saying he was murdered...

Just reading about this now. Some mentioned that he was ill and went to the hospital over there. Shit news

Don’t forget they’re missing Benzama, Kante and Pogbad (he came be decent on his day for France) This is still a very good French team with arguably the best player in the world having a very good tournament so far.

In what context?

The standard of football is shocking, the attitude of the major players shocking.

Shocks, stadiums, organization superb but in football terms it's a sh1t fest.

I don't know. Agreed it's all very Brentford vs Crystal Palace, rather than City vs Madrid, but you can have entertaining sports events between matched teams without it being the best quality. The tournament has been good, if you ask me, from what I have seen of it. And the people there seem to be enjoying it, which is important as well.

Agreed, the two games today were yawn fests.

As the stakes get higher the fear of failure grips and it becomes stale. England might prosper purely because France go for it and we counter. However, the 99th minute equaliser was pretty exciting as was Croatia's ET come back. The ref destroyed the Argentina game though, he's a fucking prick that Spanish fella.

Hope LVG is kissing each and every member id dutch side. He loves kissing and giving stupid dumb statements. He has too much for it now

He’s been feeling unwell for a week. I would assume his brother is just very upset but incorrect.

The shock results
The twists and turns
The passion (Japan/Argentina/Morocco)
The handbags (argies and the Dutch last night)
The stars - Messi, Modric, Mbappe, Ronaldo
Referees allowing so much more go, VAR working exceptionally well (so far)
England looking great (so far)
