I haven’t calculated what we need to do to overtake WIndies R/R but guessing if we knock these off in about 13 overs should be about enough. 18.3 to overtake SA they just said.

Can somebody work out what we need to do to qualify when we come in to bat?
Just said we need to chase it in 18.4 overs to get into top 2 on net run rate.

English man?Very professional performance by England this afternoon. Dismissed the USA for 115, and Jordan becomes the first man to get a hattrick in mens' international T20 cricket. He actually took 4 wickets in 5 balls in that final over.
Pat Cummins took one about 18 hours ago!
TMS live saying 18 overs gets us a semi whatever the result in the other game.
If we don't lose loads of wickets I'd expect us to get it in 12/14 overs

Isn’t there a scenario where SA beat WI that improves their NRR but doesn’t damage WI’s NRR enough to below SA’s current figure making them 2 the top 2?Just said we need to chase it in 18.4 overs to get into top 2 on net run rate.

It’s irrelevant to some extent. If S Africa beat West Indies and we beat USA NRR is irrelevant as we have 2 more points than West Indies; if West Indies beat S Africa their NRR will be miles better than South Africa , if we beat USA then our NRR needs to be better than S Africa’s, which it probably would be unless we beat USA in the last overI haven’t calculated what we need to do to overtake WIndies R/R but guessing if we knock these off in about 13 overs should be about enough. 18.3 to overtake SA they just said.

Sounds about right, especially as it was said on TMSTMS live saying 18 overs gets us a semi whatever the result in the other game.
