2026 World Cup Discussion

How the fuck did the good old u.s. of a get another world cup?

I think we all know the answer to that.
Trump secretly gave a bunch of money to Blatter? - ironically Trump is no longer President and Blatter no longer heads FIFA. But yeah, FIFA dealings are corrupt as hell.

I live in Foxborough MA; about a 15 minute walk from Gillette stadium where 6 games are being played in 2026.
I will wait to see who is playing there before I AirBnB my house...;)

I’d be tempted to do Mexico City if it falls at a time I’m over there. Canada as well would be a good experience. I’d happily swerve the US though.

I live near Seattle. My plan - buy tickets to WC venues near me ASAP.

True story - I bought last minute tickets to the woman's 2015 WC final held in Vancouver, Canada - a 2-hour drive or so from my home (assuming fast border crossing). I checked Google for the drive time and allotted an extra 2-hours to get to the venue just to be sure.

Huge mistake.

Google maps at the time didn't account for the delay caused by border crossing from USA into Canada. I spent about 2 hours in a huge line waiting to cross the border.

I eventually arrived at the venue seconds before halftime - only to see that USA was well-ahead. I missed all the exciting first half goals.

If I have to travel to Canada for any 2026 games, I'll be sure to triple check border crossing times.

Good plan. I will be doing the same. And looking at going to games at other venues, including Canada. I would also love to see a game at the legendary Azteca in Mexico as well.
