Everything depend on the CL final

If we win it, then there is no pressure to buy Lukaku or Kane or Haaland and etc. you are already a champion, so Jesus and Torres duo seems fine and both of them will compete for that place..

If we loose it, then there definitely is a pressure and you need a fresh blood, like Pep brought in Mahrez..
There’s pressure either way as you never stick with a squad without refreshing it. Haaland should be priority, regardless.

Anyway, Torres. Much better in the middle - would like to see more of that over the next couple of games.

There's some incredibly short memories on here if people don't remember that Torres settled in much quicker than Sané. Leroy was shite until Christmas of his first season.

Because he's a young winger people expected Ferran to be the new Sané, but they're nothing alike. Torres reminds me much more of Edinson Cavani. They're even the same height.
I don’t particularly like the comparison full stop really because all players and teams and situations and times are different. But Leroy spent the first half of his first season getting injured, recovering from injury, and getting injured again.

He missed 10 of the first 31 games in 2016-17 injured, and 8 of them on the bench not quite fully fit.

I would love to see Pep start with Mahrez Torres Foden in CL final but it really looks like he'll stick to using KDB in that position. I prefer seeing KDB in his natural position and a striker in the CF position.

does torres get in in front of ;
Fern/rodri
Kdb dundo
Mahrez bernie foden?

Not a matter of being right or wrong,the problem is those jumping to conclusions in his first, difficult season. When years of experience should be telling us not to.
Football supporters will call a spade a spade if it looks and plays like a spade.

Their opinion will change over time.

Looking at other people‘s similar assessments over the course of this thread, whatever we expect or say about Torres’s future in the game, it won’t change the fact that for majority of the matches he’s played this season he’s been anonymous, bar a goal here and there.

He could still finish the season as our top scorer. 3 goals behind Gundogan
