Just to clear it up, yes, he did play RW for Spain today.
2 goals from RW and 1 from the LW (his best goal imo)
I honestly don't care which wing he plays for us, but simply that he is afforded the freedom to play centrally like Spain gave him, his movement off of the striker (Morata) was really good, combined with deadly finishing and solid dribbling/ball control, it's best to give him that freedom.
At City, typically our RW stays wide because Walker doesn't do that for us.
Our LW (usually Sterling, sometimes Foden) is allowed to come inside because our LB (Mendy or Cancelo) play the wide role.
This is probably the main reason I say to play him LW for us, because I think he is better than Sterling at playing inside (a better finisher), and also has the benefit of shifting Sterling out wide right and using his pace more there.
Alternatively, sure, we can play him RW like Spain did, but again, he needs that freedom to play inside. So we either make whoever is LW stay wide (perhaps Foden is better here because he is left footed and Sterling isn't), and/or we put Cancelo as the RB to play wide.
Edit: Just to add, I honestly would like to see a partnership between Jesus and Torres where they play as an inbetween striker/winger role, as I think both would do really well like, basically a kind of 442/4132, with the front 5 as:
--------Jesus--------Ferran
Foden--------KdB--------Sterling
---------------Rodri
------------Back---4-----------------
This hybrid striker system I have noted here is actually very similar to what Monaco used when they won Ligue 1. Mbappe played as one of the "strikers" but was afforded freedom to play on the wings alot. Bernardo Silva played RM but had Freedom to drift centrally with his overlapping fullback (like Foden would have here).
