He's been ok so far but imo he's going to go on & be a star, a huge player for us in the future
I agree and imagine the demands of bedding in to a Pep team are far more demanding than most....I just haven’t seen much from him in terms of raw ability.I think all City fans should know by now to give new signings at least 18 months to fully settle in. He’s got so much to learn, not just our tactics and Peps demands, but also a new league at such a young age. I would like to see him try beat his man though.
Probably because most of the comments that aren't praising him are in fact posters judging him or writing him off.Why does every comment that isn't constant glowing praise have to be labelled as people judging him or writing him off?
We all know it's rare for a player to settle into a Pep side from the off and he will need a bedding in period before we see anything from him but stating he's been entirely anonymous in all but 2 games he's featured in this season is fair and accurate.
Yep.Why does every comment that isn't constant glowing praise have to be labelled as people judging him or writing him off?

People have to remember that Torres has been playing as a striker for a lot of the games he's played and not as a winger. For for large parts he's in the middle waiting for service and not getting involved in the build up like a winger or midfielder would. Even against Cheltenham he was more central with Mendy being the winger on the left. Only in the 2nd half he moved to the right wing.Yep.
This “goals and assists” thing seems to have been driven in the past 3/4 years by social media and can largely cover up for performances where there has been minimal contribution.
Don’t get me wrong I want him to score as many as possible but I’m perhaps a bit old school in being able to judge a players performance not just on goals and assists alone.
A player tracking back and making a perfect sliding tackle before setting up a new attack, being brave and taking on a full back, dropping a shoulder to get out of a tight space, working hard to drag a defender the wrong way etc is all part of what contributes to a player’s performance and is how I judge their overall contribution to a game, not just if they got an assist.
It’s why Sane was a fan’s favourite. Not only did he get very good “goals and assists” records, he’d have us on the edge of our seats.
Not in his first season though. Nowhere near. It’s why Sane was a fan’s favourite. Not only did he get very good “goals and assists” records, he’d have us on the edge of our seats.

Raz is a perfect example of someone who offers very little to our overall play but always pops up with a goal/assist.at the end of the day a guy who does little but does score goals and assists will always be looked on better than someone like FFS who does sod all and has no end product. Same way Raz gets a lot more criticism for misses when he's not mitigating poorer performances with 20 goals and 5/10 assists a season.
