The ball went nowhere near him so how could he have a good or bad game?
Our build up play was poor in the first half, they played narrow. He couldn't find space. He is new to the position he was asked to play and had 1 days training. The lad is class. One that will leave in due course unfortunately.

Exact what I said in the match day thread. There is no point having strikers if you don’t give them any service. Even Sergio at his best wouldn’t have got a sniff in Saturday.

From what I have seen of him so far, Torres shows great promise. if Pep keeps playing him and he gets proper service he could be a big player for us.

It is frustrating that it does not seem to be possible to discuss player performances on here without being insulted. Torres had a very quiet game at Wembley on Saturday to the extent the non-City fan I was watching the game with did not actually realise that he had been on the pitch when we discussed the match at half time.

We can acknowledge that he is just back in training, had a tough first year with moving to a different country, catching Covid etc. but it is fair to say he did not do well and to question whether giving him lots of minutes during this season is the best option for our teams success.

I hope he comes good but want the likes of Delap, Palmer, McAtee etc. to be given opportunities in the first team. I know Delap was not fit for Saturday but if he had been then I think he would have been more visible than Ferran. He might have scored a hat trick or got sent off after 30 seconds but would have been noticeable.

I will admin that some of my frustration is because I watched a lot of EDS football last year and am really keen to see how those lads can progress. The rest is because it is looking increasingly likely that we may be going into the season with fewer striker options than last season against opposition that looks stronger than that we faced last time.

I hope he takes it somehow to the next level and be good enough to be first choice winger.
