Was the best player on the pitch the first 30 mins, then got a stupid yellow, almost gave away a goal and lost all confidence. I feel bad for him, he’s clearly trying, but with the constant abuse he always seems to be low on confidence

Similar to Otamendi. Can be alright for some of the game but he’s always got a brain fart in him. He’s genuinely a very average footballer who wouldn’t look out of place at a championship club

I had sushi & slept with this Italian bird this week who slept with Mendy a few weeks ago. (If I’m called out by someone who thinks I’m speaking bollocks, I’ll show @Ric proof). She also slept with Mahrez. There you go our two boo boys (can’t make this up). She’s also slept with Matuidi the fucking whore. (She’s not a whore, but she’s all plastic surgeried-up and gets flown around the world by rich people via Instagram DMs.)

I asked her what were they like and nothing bad about Mahrez but in regards to Mendy she said some things that really didn’t sit right with me and in the grand scheme of things, may not have any true significance.

Her 8 year old son plays football and she tried to ask him about football, and he replied “fuck football.” She said at this party he had somewhere in France a few weeks back (Cannes or St Tropez...I’m not sure but can find out) that this guy was the wildest person she’d ever seen partying-wise and he did certain things that I won’t ever say. Things that I don’t disagree with, but shit you’re a pro footballer.

Now, maybe I’m old school, but to me wild parties before the season starts, like a month before, I think just seemed a bit unfocused. Especially the things he was doing.

Don’t slag me off saying “it’s okay to party hard,” but it was just the general vibe/body language she gave me about Mendy that I interpreted just didn’t seem City like (in addition the what occurred which I’m sure players do on vacation). I didn’t like the whole crazy party boy thing and it made me question his focus.

Please understand that I completely understand you can work hard and play hard but I didn’t like what I heard about a player who should be building his success back up after having fallen off.

Not sure why you mentioned the sushi, that's the only bit that made me scratch my head. It made me want to order some.

Sounds like a few in the squad are being caught with the pants down

We didn’t see enough pre injuries to know how he was really going to work out... So all we can do is go back to the Mendy that was at Monaco, which for most us was two games where he ripped our ageing fullbacks apart... but where he was also not great defensively... and think that was the guy we were going to see.

At times we still see the attacking threat, but it’s seemingly much more threat than actual hurt. The defensive side is still decidedly average.

How we haven’t signed a second left back is unbelievable given his injuries and form since the surgeries.

Well City scouting team have 60 pages about players, what they are like, detailed studies, personality traits etc.

Seems like it worth fuck all based on Stones/Mendy...

Sam lee on a podcast said they knew he was a dick but thought he'd be alright if he was in Manchester and out of that environment. So they knew, but seemed to ignore it and thought he was worth 50 million regardless. That's a(nother) big, bad call

Teams are literally targeting him every week now as the weak link in our defense.

Yep. I wouldn't mind but he started really well then got himself stupidly booked which then pretty much ended his game :(

He even wrote to someone on Instagram saying he knows he can defend better but the yellow didn't help him, kid is under shit tons of pressure and I really do feel for him even tho he has been shit.

he has Fernando Torres syndrome. completely lost his game and it’s not coming back no matter how hard he tries.

The scapegoating here is insane. Mendy had a MUCH better game than Walker offensively. Defensively he made 1 mistake. On the other side Walker was caught ball watching one time and a Leeds player got a free header that he headed too hard. That was just as bad of a chance to concede, but nobody’s calling for Walker’s head in his thread. Yes he was shit against Leicester, then he got better against Burnley. Last night he was very good apart from the 1 mistake he did. He skinned Helder Costa at least 5 times by my count. Defensively not perfect of course but he could still improve. We have to give credit where it’s due. FFS this forum will be the death of me someday, we have to replace half our team apparently. Good thing Gundogan and Jesus are out because they’d be in your shit list too.

A bit more accuracy on a handful of his passes in the final third and he would have had a great game offensively.

Defensively, however, it's the same old story. Not sure if it's been mentioned but he could easily got himself a second yellow for clearing out the opponent once he'd been beaten. He's completely unreliable.

He works hard ,wants to Contribute positively but not happening and may not happen, not at ManCity anyway. Maybe a move away to some midtable club away from spotlight he may get better and get his confidence back and can be a decent player for rest of his career but at a topmost level in a team competing on evey front, it's. Looking very difficult for him.

The problem with mendy is he has to think all the time, nothing about his game is natural. He hasn’t got the concentration in him to not fuck up at least a few times every game.
The yellow he got was unnecessary and stupid then he blames it for not being sble to put a tackle in
