If there’s millions in compensation to be paid out then it could be a close callIt’d cost millions in compensation for anyone convicted and executed if the Met had been involved…

UBI is an interesting concept but the idea that people wouldn’t still go on the rob seems very far fetched to meThere is a concept called Universal Basic Income. Under it, every citizen gets a certain weekly sum, but certain benefits are withdrawn and taxes rise to claw back from the better off.
It might help reduce crimes for acquisition. But Daily Mail land is horrified by the idea, and of late a conspiracy theory has arisen that UBI is a plan to control us all and turn us into slaves.
Drugs (rather than bread) are at the root of many crimes. There is a case for considerable legalisation, with control and taxation (similar to fags and booze). It would help to break many of the criminal gangs, just as the abandonment of prohibition in the US ended the gangster era. But - the problem is, drugs are not a neutral thing. Use of them can cause all kinds of issues, including mental health damage, driving under the influence, impact on work to name but three. It would have to be carefully considered.
I was taken aback watching him myself. Wasnt well obviously, but the crimes he wanted to commit, and did in the pursuit of it, awful. Also was taken by how professional every cop involved in that was.just finished second part.
That **** is a fucking maniac. May his victims rest in peace. They will never know what they prevented.
Looking back, I suppose I was taken aback too. Mesmerised maybe. He was gone, unique. As you say, unwell.I was taken aback watching him myself. What struck me was he totally dead behind the eyes. Ive had years of sorting out some real bad stuff from really bad people, and some stuff that just goes wrong, or some stuff that idiots do. My saying in work is always look them in the whites of their eyes and you know whats what, be it victims witnesses or those who are thought to have committed crimes. If Id have looked at his lamps I would have known I was looking at a dead eyed killer with imminent risk attached to themLooking back, I suppose I was taken aback too. Mesmerised maybe. Fucking hell they wind me up with that shit. Anyone found guilty should have their sentence doubled for saying this.No comment
So if you have eye witness and cctv and dna that absolutely makes them a murderer they should be executed also no one should ever be released if they don’t tell you where the bodies are, same either way that Stephen Lawrence twat who won’t say who was with him that night when they murderer him. It’d cost millions in compensation for anyone convicted and executed if the Met had been involved…
The notion that Criminal Gangs would be redundant is a joke -even in a system where everyone gets given a basic income there are many (I would say the majority) who would want moreThere is a concept called Universal Basic Income. But the legalisation of drugs would destroy one of their favourite sources of income. The notion that Criminal Gangs would be redundant is a joke -even in a system where everyone gets given a basic income there are many (I would say the majority) who would want more
It doesn't work like that. :) You clearly have never been in a position to understand.Fucking hell they wind me up with that shit. Anyone found guilty should have their sentence doubled for saying this.
Understand that it annoys me they can just refuse to answer? It doesn't work like that. :) You clearly have never been in a position to understand.
No comment puts the onus on the prosecution and in many circumstances is advised by legal representation. Situations can be very complex and it is important that legal representation is there to provide guidance. It is in everybody's interest that this is provided as without legal representation the prosecution process can easily become very confusing. It is easy for people to start owning up to stuff that would be used against them if they were innocent.Understand that it annoys me they can just refuse to answer?
for normal people, yeah, for fkn recidivist pond-life, another story – and we all know the fkn differenceNo comment puts the onus on the prosecution and in many circumstances is advised by legal representation. Problem is there’s thousands of them and all stock full of excuses -so the Judge will take “an exceptional course” and spare them the punishment they deserve -believe me this has happened daily for 35 years -at leastDevils Island, well the modern equivalent. This is for habitual offenders who've decided they'd rather steal than work. Basic accomodation, tent cities, containers, who cares? They're given chances to mend their ways or off they go. Live in society by societies rules or go and live in mad Max land.

We have that in theory for Burglars and for knife offences with minimum sentences set. However in practice the loopholes win out day after day in my experience -so that the minimum 3 years for a 3 Strikes Burglar will end up being 872 days -which is the 3 year minimum minus credit for a Guilty Plea regardless of how many Burglaries the Guy has actually done and if he’s already serving a sentence (which is not uncommon) will be concurrent to his current term -so in effect will make no difference to the Guys release date whatsoeverI read somewhere once that the majority of crimes are committed by the same small percentage of people. They need something like the old American three strikes and you're out rule. Often a lot of these tossers get to court after battering somebody into a coma and you here they have a hundred previous convictions or not far off it.
The majority of decent hard working people shouldn't have to live and socialise with these toerags

That's what I mean. If the majority are repeat offenders, with a lot having drug problems too, as soon as they're released they'll be committing crime again. Just keep the fuckers in. I believe this did happen with a fair few when judges issued an IPP sentence, although they are no longer given I believe.
On another note a lot of people make a lot of money out of crime and everything connected with it. If it suddenly ceased, what would these people do for a living?
The authorities can't make this shit up, too slack too easy and the system looks bent out of shape.
