This lad looks very composed. Very calm, proper understanding of the right pass at the right time. If it’s not on he doesn’t panic and has the quality to hold onto the ball move it where the attacker can’t get it and then lay it off where it needs to go.

Doesn’t look fast but looks to get into the right positions.

To be fair, Almiron isn’t a slouch and then they brought on Livramento late on who is rapid as well. Don’t think it’s particular Gvardiol being slow as it is them being fast.

Ederson didn’t, Walker didn’t, Laporte didn’t, with Mahrez it was actually his second season where he struggled (he was shit in his second season) and was decent in his first season when we won the league, Jesus didn’t, BSilva didn’t, Dias didn’t, Akanji didn’t, Håland didn’t, Álvarez didn’t, Kovačić looks like he won’t need a season, Gvardiol the same…

If I remember correctly, Laporte started the day after he signed (against West Brom I believe) and slotted right in. We seem to have signed two fantastic Croatians who have done the same. Worth noting in this Pep side…
