Doku skips past a player = great winger, impossible to stop

Opposition winger skips past one of our defenders = shit at defending 1V1, should have stopped the cross!

We play against other professionals at the top of the game, our players are going to get beat from time to time.

He's a decent all round player, with a lovely touch, who's young and only going to improve. Let's give him time.

I know he’s young and still to adapt to a new league, and isn’t really a left back. But fuck he’s a frustrating player

As in, excellent every time he plays? He is our second player after Erling Haaland in the recent history to make such a strong start to his City career at such a young age.

Good on the ball but not overly convinced by his defending. Hopefully that will improve in time. He's still young, in his first season with us and playing in a position that he probably wouldn't regard as his best (though I wouldn't want him starting at CB at present).

Nope, as in the ball always seems to find him when we’re in a good position and nothing materializes or he takes the wrong option.

Also has been dodgy defensively many times this season

Anyone know why Pep keeps playing Gvardiol out of position at LB?

At LB he's OK - not great going forward, but mostly solid on defense.

Whereas Gvardiol is supposedly a world class - top 2 or 3 - CB. Why do we keep playing Gvardiol at LB - is he our best option there (can't Ake play LB? or someone else?).

This thread is full of stats saying he has been one of our most consistently good performers this season, so I wholeheartedly disagree. The ball happens to find him because he keeps on making good runs.

Hospital passes to Rodri our crown Jewel, positionally naive, wayward shots, beaten for pace numerous times, deary me...get him on bench!

Thought he had a good game

You can clearly see he has a hell of a lot of defensive ability at times. He does seem to switch off for a second now and again.

You've got to remember he's very young and being asked to play a roll he's probably not been used to.

I still believe in a few years we be looking back and saying it was a quality signing.

3 successful tackles, 1 interception, 1 block that saved us from conceding a goal, 2 key passes, 2 times successfully dribbled past a player, 4th most touches tonight, so constantly involved. 4th highest rated player statistically tonight after Phil, KDB, and Rodri.

Stats you say? Ok how many assists has he? Pre assists? Can think of none.

Can think of 4 or 5 goals we've conceded that he's directly been responsible for. That's just in my memory though, not stats
