In the middle hes not so good. Great defender when the ball is on the ground, awful when its in the air.

This lad will get some criticism for some defensive lapses but if he doesn’t step up and play a ball in from the edge of the box, we potentially have to go to penalties.

What a solid signing for a bargain rate. This kid willingly and capably stepped in to multiple roles throughout the season and his play at the back allowed Stones to make runs into midfield, a tactic that turned our season around.

After his first year, you can fucking call me a Manuel Akanji fan.

A wonderful role model for my little Swiss lad.

Intelligent, hardworking, professional, humble, open to doing whatever is necessary for the benefit of the team, and by all accounts a very nice man on top.

Agree completely. He’s been a great player and a fantastic signing for us, particularly at the price we paid.

He is poor in the air so shouldn’t really be paired in a back 2 or centrally in a back 3. 1:1 defending he’s very accomplished and his passing is also good. Seems a good clubman too.
