Early signs are that he's a snip, but needs to be a bit more careful with his barging in. No sweat yet and so far so good

going by peps recent decisions it looks like he’s won a starting place in the line up. Kudos to Akanji, many wrote off this transfer
Akanji looks great so far. His reputation in Germany was that he was an excellent ball-playing centre-back who had the odd rush of blood to the head. His stats suggest he was one of the best defenders in German football. He seems to have just slotted in perfectly at City. We don't buy many pups these days.

His use of the ball is exceptional. Played so many passes quickly through the lines. I actually think he'd be much better than Stones inverted. I think he's better on the ball and more progressive.

How did we nab this guy for £15m? Answers on a postcard to....
His contract was nearly up and they risked losing on a free. What is more surprising is that he went so much under the radar with no one else interested.

Not sure we'd have been in the market for another CB if it wasn't for the injuries over the backend of last season and the start of this. If it is the case that our hand was forced it appears Txiki has played a blinder.

Hell of a lot of very very good stuff on the ball there. Really clever passing in tight spaces. Could be a superb asset to build play from the back. Not been properly tested in defence yet but the early signs are that he hasn't come here to be 5th choice centre half and the other lads have got a fight on their hands

Great business and means we have already replaced Ake when he’s sold in the summer. Plus, we’ll net a tidy profit over the two deals, which adds to the kitty we’ve been building up for a midfielder (or two) and winger, which are clearly the two priorities at the end of the season.

Bellingham will arrive for 110m and it will be made up mostly of Ake going to Arsenal for 60m and another raft of 10-15m ED's players leaving.

Of course, Barcelona may actually find (the already far too cheap) 80m for Bernardo down the pants of some Spanish tart.

I don’t see Ake going for more than £40m but the point still stands. Even Chelsea who were scattergun in the summer wouldn’t go higher than £40m.
