How depressing, my life has flown by.

I was 12 standing on the Kippax that day

You're only 37? Liar ;-)

Haha, not sure why you think otherwise!

Yeah, last time I looked at my passport, couple of years away still from the big 40.

I expect at least another league title, one FA Cup and one League Cup before then.

I was there, remember it very well.

Does anyone remember the Huddersfield fans going mad when Andy May pulled it back to 9-1 ? ( I think it was 9-0 when they scored - I could be wrong !!! )
They celebrated like it was a last minute winner, ha ha

I was 8 but it only seems a few years ago. I had the VCR recording of the highlights and kept them for years. I seem to remember the commentator saying that their kit looked like a beermat or a bruised banana.

A memorable day for me, in more ways than one. I went to the match after playing a game that morning at Northenden - South Manchester Community College Vets versus... can't remember who. But the thing is, we lost 10-1.

I always tell this story in the "ridiculous co-incidences" context, but no-one ever believes me.

I was 23 years old and at Loughborough University doing my Drama degree and I remember going into the kitchen to read the Sunday papers and then saying "S**t! Lost!" when I saw the scoreline. It was only after looking at it again that I realised we had won 10-1 and not lost 0-1. Had to keep looking at it to check I wasn't seeing things. I had the same experience 2 years later when returning from an acting tour of Italy and bought a paper at the airport and stared long and hard, with a growing smile on my face, at the 5-1 mauling. Missed a lot of good games in the late 80s.

Remember this game so well...............

When Whitey was through on goal for the 10th, I couldn't bear to look.Just looked down at
the floor and then.......cue pandemonia on the Kippax.A day I will never forget!
IIRC the game was on TV the following day (highlights on Kick Off ?) and that was the
first time I saw the last goal go in.
Several years later I found myself running a pub in Huddersfield, and I reminded the
Flat Caps about that day constantly.

Happy days indeed

And one Champions League as well of course....... ;o)

It still sticks in my mind that Huddersfield had three clear chances in the first ten minutes and our first goal came completely against the run of play.

When you watch it on TV at leasr four of the goals look yards offside.

I remember this game like it was yesterday. I'd just started my degree at Huddersfield Poly and went to the game just hoping we didn't lose.

On the Monday morning following the game I walked through the town centre in my City shirt on the way to Poly, I got a few strange looks and the atmosphere was a bit like going to a funeral but then again the yorkies are all miserable swines at the best of times.
