On the right I think.

Yep. Leicester played a deep back four with the fullbacks barely crossing the halfway line, Kanté roving around the place winning the ball and Drinkwater in front of the defence looking to release Mahrez or Vardy as soon as possible on the break.

Mahrez was routinely receiving the ball on the counterattack with one defender to beat or a simple enough through ball to Vardy to play.

The setup that he thrived in could barely be more different to the situation he finds himself in most weeks at City.

I thought it was a shit signing at the time, and definitely think that now. The lad has unreal technique but that’s where it ends. Poor poor work right, soft as shite, predictable, the greediest player I have seen at city in a long time and it looks like the players think that as well. He’s a glory boy just in it for personal glory ive never felt less detached to a city player and I didn’t like the way he was begging for a move from Leicester for 2 years.
Seeing as the amount of work and reports our scouting network build into each signing including personality traits etc I’m amazed we signed him.

Times during the game I was watching him and everyone else is pressing and he's walking about, right next to a player with the ball and does a half jog. Good when he gives 100% but the lack of trying is really poor.

Don't think the 'false 9' role helped him but when everyone is back I think the front 3 would work better Torres - Jesus/ Aguero - Sterling..

He’s an amazing player but completely lost in our style of play, which many could have predicted when we bought him - strange but then, would be best for all to move on.

At no point has he fit us and at no point will he ever fit us.

I saw barely any fans think the guy was the right player for a Guardiola side before he signed, and turns out that was 100% bang on the money.

He's a lazy, luxury player, drifting in and out of a game as he pleases, and who's made for small ponds, not vast oceans. Another poor, wasteful purchase under Pep's watch.

Another case of buying a player for a system we didn't play at the time.

When we bought him, we played two out and out wingers who played on the side of their strongest foot.

For some reason, Pep wanted to reinvent the wheel and make it difficult for us to break down a parked bus by making the pitch even narrower. It was a completely bizarre sighing at the time and remains that to this day.

He didn't play well enough, held it for too long at times and didn't battle hard enough to keep it when given difficult balls. But it was his press that caused the hurried clearance for the goal and he put Sterling through for our best chance. De Bruyne and Sterling have struggled filling in there and we seldom get a good result without playing a real striker.
