Everyone misses chances. On another day he bags a hat-trick. If we had to pick our best front 3, he is currently 100% in it.He was fantastic tonight. Should have scored 2/3 but were talking inches from a memorable performance. He's as ubdroppable as Bernardo right now. And anybody still rolling out the "he doesn't work hard enough" crap needs to watch tonight's game closely, he was working as hard if not harder than anybody.

He's been guilty of greed often enough previously but he wasn't greedy tonight. He was in legitimate shooting positions and there wasn't anybody in better positions than him when he took the shot on. We always moan about players not shooting enough yet are quick to call mahrez greedy when he does take on a shot despite most of us probably screaming shoot at the TV.Pissed me off tonight but hes getting in some brilliant positions. Yeah I don't think he was really greedy tonight as some mentioned, he was in good shooting positions but it just didn't come off, though he was close each time.
He's the starting RW for me, even besides the potential goals, he just played well overall, good link up, passing and movement, and was helping his fullback.

This is the best form he's ever been in since joining the club even excluding his goal contributions. His workrate off the ball this past month has been exemplary but on the ball he's looked the teams' most potent attacker and a constant outlet whenever he's on it.
This was the mahrez that tore the league up for Leicester and one we've only seen glimpses of here and there throughout his time but he's starting to deliver on a more consistent basis now. Long may it continue especially as it gets to the business end of the season as I feel he may prove very influential in the coming weeks.

Didn't quite happen for him and a bit of an off night but did well for the first goal.
Mahrez is a big beneficiary of the false 9 we play. When we play with a regular forward Mahrez is more involved in the build up play but tonight he had more opportunities to get on the end of attacks.
It's a shame for him nothing quite worked in front of goal.
I think he is actially the worst of the 5 at playing false 9.
He wants everything to feet and he doesn't make the runs off the ball or behind the CBs that Gundo and Phil in particular make.
He plays well in this system when its not his turn to be the false 9, but when was him up there we look short a man up front.
I actually agree. I much prefer him deeper when he's central (which isn't often). He's so used to playing one position that he's the least naturally adept at the fluidity of it all. I do rate him in that role, but it's just we have a lot of other players far more suited to positional fluidity than he is that can play the false 9 to a notably better level.I think he is actially the worst of the 5 at playing false 9.

What I meant specifically before was that he benefits from someone else being that false 9 more than any other player barring Gundogan may do, because he gets a lot more space on the wide right at times due to us focussing play centrally.
