Greedy fcker and couldnt hit a barn door agains the Germans , an off night as far as his finishing was concerned but he was a threat all night , he's in great form but he left his shooting boots at home.

Spotted this in the paper today

A forklift truck driver who used a bank card belonging to Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez to go on a €200,000 spending spree has been jailed for fraud.

Sharif Mohamed, 32, admitted he spent the footballer's money on clothes for his children and drinks in high-end bars in Ibiza, but claimed he was part of a wider group of people who accessed the card and had been made "the fall guy".

London's Snaresbrook Crown Court also heard the Barclays Bank card was used at a casino in London, for hotels stays, at a nail salon and for meals at Nando's and Greggs.

Sentencing Mohamed to three years and eight months in prison, Judge Laurence West-Knights QC said that "staggering sums" of money were stolen.

The court heard the gang made "hundreds of transactions" of varying amounts in an "incredibly intense" period of spending.

Mahrez only spotted that the large amounts had been drained from his card in September 2017, after the scam had been going on for a month, and his bank was forced to reimburse him £175,830 (€204,725).

Maybe it's me but I feel our system has adapted to how he plays in a way. He's not the most hard-working or workrate heavy like Bernardo, but when we play to his strengths he does well.

Mostly in how he likes to always receive the ball and keep it busy around the box, he gets that support now because of Bernardo/Gündogan/Rodri all looking for him in spaces, and someone always helping him on the overlap. He's a player that likes a lot of attention when on the attack, and this system has helped him take some responsibility because he knows without a striker the goals need to come from wings or midfield.

I’ve always liked Mahrez (bar the odd game) from when he was at Leicester. He was scary to have on the opposition so was buzzing when we signed him. His first touch is unbelievable and he more often than not goes straight at his full back which must be a nightmare for them.

His passing is a joke too, a lot of assists and what should’ve been assists if every chance was finished which obviously isn’t always going to happen.

Likewise with his shooting. He’s not clinical by any stretch but a good finisher. And has got us out the shit a few times.

I do think we’re a much better side when he plays especially now his work rate has improved over the past month. Doesn’t deserve the disrespect he gets (wouldn’t be surprised if some haven’t forgiven him for the Liverpool penalty in 18/19 still) IMO.

However, I still can’t decide if I’d rather he stay or we get somebody in to replace him. Every time we’re rumoured to get a forward (Grealish, Messi) then it’s him that fans say will move on. I’d love those players to come in but can’t decide if I would if it meant Mahrez being the one to make way.

Aguero going makes sense or if he stays he won’t be a starter so that’s fine. Sterling is having a mare at the moment but his non-stop running at defenders and in behind must be a nightmare for them even when he’s out of form. Jesus is young and his work rate is great - definitely not a number 9 in my eyes given the fact he seems scared shitless to take a shot. Foden will stay and rightly so. Same with Bernardo. To me, Mahrez is the most dangerous of the attackers we have but he’s the one that’s pushed out when it comes to making room for other players. Can’t make my mind up personally.

Waffles on there but got it off my chest. Cheers for listening

Top tier technique, goal threat and ball retention for his position with very good pace still. Settled at the club and performing well. I don't think there's any reason to sell - he'd definitely need replacing with a very expensive player, and we already have other priorities.

Honestly, despite his recent surge in form, I'm doubtful the club is looking to extend his contract. I don't think the club is actively looking to sell him, but is probably open to offers.
Normally I'd be inclined very much to disagree - but we're going after Haaland by all accounts - and maybe we'll sign Messi and others (Grealish?) as well - to afford all of this we'll need to sell - and as good as Mahrez has been lately - he's someone that I think the club might well sell if necessary to afford the talent we're after in the next window.
