We have a fair few players who would be considered a star man for any other club in the world but here they're just another player. Gundogan and Laporte are in that bracket, Mahrez certainly is too.

One of the benefits of having such rich owners is that most clubs would probably be having conversations about whether they should cash in on him before he gets too old right now. We get to keep him as long as we want because the £35-40m he'd probably fetch isn't necessary for us.

Keeping him has got nothing to do with having rich owners. Do we still go out and buy players because we have rich owners? No to both points, we keep players because we win trophies and the revenue from many streams come from that not our owners.

Mahrez is in excellent form currently, looks to be enjoying himself and is without doubt our no 1 penalty taker. Also what is noticeable, certainly with reference to Tuesday was his tracking back and assisting our defence.

Definitely tried, I just wasn't impressed with his output. He was hardly alone though.
