26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Is he ever gonna stop being a shitebag? Every counter attack, once a player breathes close to him he plays it quickly or checks back, as a winger that is useless. He's not slow like bernardo where he has 0 chance on pace. Just watch this lad on a counter, he is shitting himself even when a defender is 5 yards behind him
Im not understanding your criticism here. He's about 8 stone and you want him going shoulder to shoulder with much stronger defenders? Releasing the ball before he gets eased off it isn't a bad thing.

He's yards ahead of the defenders chasing him. He's not slow, he's mentally weak, he hates contact so will always hesitate. All he needs to do is run across the defender and let them foul you. He's absolutely useless if all he's doing is checking back on a counter attack or just playing asap when his passing and crossing ain't that good. Bernardo is frustrating enough on one side, having them both on the wings is punishing to the senses. Even in one on one's, he's scared. He's an out and out winger, what is his purpose if he's even hesitates 1 on 1

Well that's where you use your ability to overcome size rather than play hot potato with the ball.

Plenty of great wingers have been little runts

He's 21 ffs
Him being 21 is not a licence for him to consistently underperform.

Using his age as an excuse as to why he’s not at the required level might be ok if he was showing signs of improvement or that he’s learned from last season but we’re just seeing the same things over and over from him. His work rate is non existent and his body language is poor at best.

I hope he proves me wrong but I think it will turn out a mistake to have not taken the money for him from spurs. I just do not see the potential for him to ever succeed in the prem.

I thought he did well when he came on last night.

Worked hard defensively and drew fouls well. Created a great opportunity when he played a 1-2 with Foden in our own half, got in behind their left back and played the ball to Reijnders who hit the bar. As well as another chance he provided when he took on their left back and pulled a good ball back into the box to Reijnders.

He did more in 15 minutes than BSilva and Doku did combined in the whole match.

It just shows that when people have it in for a player they’ll pile in even when it’s not constructive. I’d have left Doku on despite him being fairly poor. I thought he was just starting to come into it and was bound to get more space late on. However, Savinho did very little wrong and looked sharp once he came on.

No chance. Savinho's ceiling is far higher. I think posts slagging off Savinho will look very foolish in a couple of years time.
He did have a very good cameo versus Monaco. It seems that Savinho plays much better starting on the left but there's so much competition there that he'll play the bulk of his minutes on the right where he doesn't seem nearly as productive.

i think he is going Doku route

1st year very promising
2nd year average at best
3rd year what Doku is now
