Seems like he's finally settling in. Solves a huge problem for us out on that left if he can keep anywhere near this level for the season

One way or another, he took much of last season to adapt but the signs were there and were backed up at the time by Pep's comments.

Some people love to pick at City transfers but the truth is that whilst our spending may not have been optimal - no one's is - we don't have a bunch of fools who got out and pay £50 - 60m for a player without some sort of justification. Cancelo is a player with a lot of ability and pace. Now he needs to show that he has consistency.

Best I've ever seen him defend, yesterday.

But I'm not going to get excited, for that reason. He did sit down in the box on one occasion & swing a leg.

Was better than the midfielders, in midfield, imo.
If that was the time salah was on him and cancelo managed to win the ball off him while on the ground and clear his lines, I was very impressed with him, salah is no slouch. Taught cancelo was very solid for us

I'm shocked there has been little discussion on this thread. Seeing as he screwed up on the Son goal by failing to communicate a hand-off I expected more bike his way....

Anyway, that said, I think when we are in possession, he was today ( and likely will be consistently) the best player you want on the ball. He is aggressive, forward minded, technical, and unlike the others who have succumbed to peps drilling, he fucking takes risks.

And while I appreciate Peps possession mantra, we simply need a few guys willing and wanting to take more risk and be aggressive in passing and movement.

Cancelo is both!!! Love this guy, and want to see more of him.

Think he needs to be smarter. He often takes crazy risks right in the midfield and today he gave the ball away and we were countered. We were simply lucky they didn't capitalize. He needs to learn you can try and dribble smack down in the middle of the field.
