Such an unnecessary signing. Walker plays pretty much every game and has an incredible injury record, it made absolutely no sense to get a backup for 60m. He’s absolutely not a LB, should only play on the right side, but as long as Walker is fully concentrated, he is undroppable

I’ve not seen a single thing from Cancelo so far in any appearance that Frimpong couldn’t have done. And then we could have spent that money on a left back instead.

I would take Frimpong as a backup at that time. He would only play max 10 games a season anyway, with most of then being in domestic cups. Was a joy to watch in the academy

I think the only way to get the best out of him and Walker is to play 3 at the back.Otherwise you have a 60m fullback sat on the bench,as he should be no where near the left berth.

He's useless as a LB when you have an inverted winger in front of him like Raz. They both like cutting inside because they are both very right footed. Need a pure left winger with a left foot (kinda like Sane) to get the best out of him in that role. I feel that goes for Ake and Zin as well. Mendy, unfortunately, is the only guy in the squad that can offer proper width on the left touch line because he's a natural left back. We offset this problem at times with Foden playing in the wing position to offer proper spacing but that is kind of a waste of Phil's talent as well because hes at his best near the box.

we all have those signings that we are inherently with or against despite the evidence before our eyes. I, for one, have disliked Mendy since the day we bought him and will never be convinced that Ake is the answer. Similarly i am determined that Cancelo is a great acquisition and will be a great player.
