Cue the influx of absolute bollocks. He was superb first half, arguably our best player but for Bernardo and had Salah in his pocket.

Then Rodri (not for the first time) gave him a fucking hospital pass, he had to bring the player down got booked and was a dead man walking for the rest of the game through absolutely no fault of his own.

Salah was savy enough to know this and was begging him to take the bait. He cost us the first goal but he had no other option, it was that or get sent off. It's only the school yard crossed legs thing that people will take issue with, if he had simply turned around normally hands in the air everybody would understand he couldn't make a tackle. staying on the pitch was the correct call.

was screaming at Pep to bring Ake on, can only assume he didn't fancy him to get upto the speed of the game before getting himself booked and being in the same situation and felt it was worth the risk to try and win. cancelo did well to stay on the pitch, played well in a tough situation made 10 times harder by something out of his control and by the way he's up against the best right winger around And playing out of position.
 
What a player, just look and enjoy...

He is fantastic in every movement, plays like a pro in a bunch of amateurs :D <3

That's exactly the way I saw it too. Some of his passing in the first half was incredible, he got us in behind several times
 
Too lazy for their first goal

Too excitable for the second and got drawn in and that set-up Salah for that whole move that he scored from with space to exploit.

But overall he had a good game.
 
One of the cleverest players in the team , his control and first touch is brilliant and very rarely gives the ball way , he was poor for the first goal when Salad went past him on the half way line , probably his only mistake and we got punished.
 
His game is all about the fine margins. He prefers to try and nick the ball so he's in control and build an attack as opposed to smashing into somenody to give a throw or foul. The only issue with that is when the opposition win the ball then he's flat footed and we are under the cosh. He's also guilty of misplaced passes in bad areas.
Hes a superbly talented footballer, its mental that somebody that good is playing full back! Haha! Only Pep eh!
But back to my point, he will gift chances to the opposition as well as create loads for us so we've got to take the good with the bad.
 
I don't say this about a lot of our players, but what he offers us going forward is worth the occasional "gets dribbled past by salah". he's not the best defender but also, really not that bad and neither of the goals were his fault, they were just brilliant attacking moves. but he's so good up the pitch
