Please let him shoot all he wants, the law of averages suggests a deflection or mishit etc could lead to a goal or penalty or corner. The better alternatives are Haaland, Mbappe, Vlahovic etc. but they don't play for us. We don't get any points for 20 passes in the opponents box and ending up with the ball back with Ederson. I love how we play but sometimes the shock tactic of a shot can confuse an opponent !!
The whole team should shoot more ,but scoring the perfect goal appears to be the Pep way , and does work most of the time but we have players like KDB , Mahrez , Foden who are very capable of sticking in a 25 yarder, playing against ten man defences like the Rags will do on Saturday , sometimes you need a lucky deflection to break the deadlock,

What Zin does better than Cancelo is that he actually retains his defensive position and always gets back.

Cancelo only wants to go one way and is more of a midfielder than Zinchenko actually is.

He's a weak link when it comes to exposing our back line and the best teams will exploit it every time.

His first half yesterday was very poor.
It actually wasn't, but I think sometimes people only see what they want to see.

He made a couple of positional errors, as did a lot of the players in the first half. Hardly worth being singled out for.

I can see it from both sides of the argument. That most our attacking play and most of Bruges attacking play went up and down his side is telling. They did have a great deal of space in the first half and he is slow getting back at times but look at that cross for our second. Kev couldn't have executed that better.

Defensively, sometimes suspect, going forward extremely effective.

He will always make more errors than Kyle as their roles are very different.. I personally feel he is a wonderful player, who is versatile, skillful , has a bit of an edge, and was prepared to wait and play his way into the team more regularly.

Its absolutely crazy. I don’t dispute he does some stupid things that annoy us all, but he is a fantastic footballer.

I’ve said for years that City do not need full backs who do nothing but defend, we simply do not do enough defending as a side, to warrant negative full backs.

3 assists (should have been 4 with Stones header from inside 6 yards) from full back and people slagging him off because he misplaced a few passes. All the while we have other players in the side, in more advanced positions, creating absolutely nothing.

With KDB, Sterling, Mahrez, Grealish and Gundogan really struggling, I am fucking delighted we have a guy at full back trying to create things, otherwise we would be going nowhere.
This. He was being crucified on the matchday thread when I unwisely took a peek at HT. Yet he was by far our most creative and penetrative player last night with three assists, and unlucky not to have scored himself. They aren’t just stats; he caught the eye with some peach passes.

He can’t be judged as a disciplined full back or some Milner-type utility man. More of a free spirit, with the risks and rewards that that entails.

Think he’d be so much better playing with a left footed, fast winger. The positions him and Grealish were taking up just didn’t work in the first half and I’ve never seen a player than can go straight from ridiculous to sublime, I think he could be a world beater if we get him right.
