Why not trust their judgment a bit more than your own? Would that be a big mistake?

I remember a lot of people on here thought Rodri and Gundogan shouldn't start together and that Pep was out of his mind to play them both. How could Pep possibly know what he was doing? Wasn't it obvious that Rodri and Gundogan were too slow, immobile.. (insert a cliche here) to make us tick?

I'd be curious to see him at RB. He's certainly got all the physical tools. Having him invert and take a lot of defensive burden off of Rodri, I think is pivotal. Especially, with KDB back.

He’s a good player but I’ll hold off on saying more until I’ve seen him perform as well against more testing opponents than Burnley and Huddersfield. As you say, he’s got the pace and gait to gallop away from most midfielders and defenders, but he’ll need to improve his final vertical through ball (3 wayward last night). He’s currently comfortable providing horizontal assists, when he has more time to compose himself, but weighting the killer pass forward when on the gallop is much harder. When he starts delivering those, I’ll dig out my loupe and give a carat.

So, what you’re saying is you like the cut of his jib, but need greater clarity on the color of his shirt in a few years?

I think he was man of the match yesterday. His pace was causing problems to Burnley.

Early days but I'm still a bit on the fence. He was really good yesterday though.

He's young but not that young.

He has some very obvious weaknesses, but his weaknesses are quite important parts of playing in our team.

He obviously has a lot of strengths and ability as well.

In a game he'll do a lot of good things, but also quite a few bad things. That's okay if you're making the difference like a Haaland or KDB, but when you're just a squad player it's not really what you're after.

But then with time and coaching I think he has a really high potential.

See how it goes I guess. It's not like we're really relying on him anyway.
