I like this guy, he is something different, he clearly has a lot of confidence in his ability and is starting to toughen up a bit.

He simply can't put two good pieces of play back to back. Everything is good then awful, then good then awful. Unfortunately he's not mentally ready for this level right now. He's a good athlete and potentially overall a good player, but not our level right now.

Bit of a quandary. He’s not going to improve playing the fag end of matches but he’s not good enough to be picked ahead of some other midfielders. He played okay today, but okay is never going to be enough to force his way into the starting eleven in big games, and only by playing in the starting eleven is he going to have the confidence to feel as if he belongs. He looked hungry and covered the pitch, which is good. However, I counted three ‘mistakes’. At fault for the goal, shouldn’t have fallen when clear, and overhit a through ball after carrying it up the park. The first two are unfortunate and can happen but the final one was the mirror image of what he did earlier in the season. If that’s to be his role, then he needs to deliver those passes.There‘s a player in there but where best to play him?

Of course others fell over and over hit passes. That’s not my point. That was his first 90 minutes since Burnley in January and I thought he played okay. However, to put real pressure on the others and get regular starts against better teams he’ll need to be flawless, yet how do you do that unless you play regularly?

Well said. I remember Foden slipping all over the pitch versus Villa last week as well.

One mistake doesn't change the fact he had a very good game. He's got class and attributes our squad lack, he's in for a big 2nd season. He'll be some player when it eventually clicks.

Has to be hard to get going when he barely plays. Alvarez plays in bad form game in and game out and Nunes plays 10-15 minutes three out of five matches. Jury still out

I think there’s a good player there, potential to be a very good player.

If Bernie goes maybe we see him further up the pitch and with more freedom. I think it’s become a bit of a cliche but he’ll have a better second season for sure.

Never been so undecided about a player. Mint going forward, takes risks, brave on the ball and with his running and is absolutely rapid. But he doesn’t have the luxury of just being an attacker under Pep and seems to be wank at the ‘pausa’ side of his game. Odd one.

City need a broad range of players.
Think that he may score goals "ghosting" through when opposing teams are knackered ?
Definitely a player who may score vital goals in the final minutes..

He might get into a position to score but he'll most likely miss them.

Squad depth is key and he is doing a lot better than a certain Kalvin Phillips. It is whether it is enough to really make an impact and whether he does it in the bigger games is the question. For me he is worth another season and not sell him in the Summer.

I know where to play him, from the bench and bench only, and Pep will also know this deep down

You’re not setting the bar high there. Why not Rico Lewis?
Squad depth has to mean more than 624 league minutes, 3 complete games (one of which was when we were down to 10), and 2 assists. His full games have all come at the Etihad and we only have Wolves and West Ham yet to come, and his only start away in the League in ‘24 was at Everton. Unless our contenders implode, we might not see him start another game, making a fuller judgement harder.

Come on blues I know we back our players and absolutely want them to succeed but the guy is nowhere near it.

His highlights today were giving the ball away for their goal and falling over every 5 seconds.

He’s average and he doesn’t fit our style.
