Maybe he's the best of a bad bunch for that position.

I'm not sure I'd even go that far. He's just different. They're all different and have different strengths playing there, with some differences and similarities in terms of weaknesses. Neither are strong all round players in that role, but Pep tries to use their strengths so that their faults are less visible.

When we can pick and choose who plays when that works pretty well, but when there's injuries and they have to play games they'd otherwise be left out of, then it really shows.

Fair do's. Personally, like all of us I hope, I'd like nothing better than to see this guy really rip it up. I think he's probably as good as he's going to get tbh.

More proof we need to start appreciating Nunes. He's not perfect.. but he actually brings something to our side.

And if he were totally shit, Pep would make sure he doesn't get on unless we're 3 goals up!

Obviously something in there Pep thinks he can use!

You can make anyone look good with the right stats. He didn't have an awful game, much in the same way he didn't have an awful game against Utd, but he makes awful mistakes. And if you're playing in defence awful mistakes mean goals conceded.

Strange what we see but I would have Lewis in for Nunes every time.

Nunes is just a calamity, always a major fuck up in him.

He'd probably stand out in a poor team but is well out of his depth in a good team.

When he got out muscled yesterday then went to ground claiming injury as their bloke bombed forward!
That was before that bloody pass inside!

TBF, you've no idea what position we bought him for, you're assuming.

Unless we announced it at some point when we signed him.

The position he's played pretty much all of his career before we signed him.

He's been a massive waste of money, the same as Kalvin Phillips. Get rid.

He's an extremely polarising player, more so than most. Clearly his athleticism and desire to why forward his helpful, but his lack of concentration and weakness is the challenge goes against him.

It means we have two very different options at right back, and strangely none of them are a right back. If the Atletico rumours are true then I wish him well, but until then I hope he has some great games for us in the run in.

One bad pass aside, he played well, I don't know what some of you were watching.
It was a shocking error and he did another shortly before, as said yesterday, it's a shame because he is so pacy and brings so much to he side that we lack but there is a least one serious cockup every game.

It seems to be the case, as it is in wider society, that the middle-ground is no longer the place to sit: you are either for or against, black or white. This polarisation is stopping any objective analysis in its tracks.

I'm not his biggest fan but I prefer to Rico Lewis at right. Probably tells you more about Rico and how bad the options are at right back. Personally I would have preferred Walker to stay and then have him leave at the end of the season.

No. It tells us more about you.
Lewis rather than Nunes! I know he drops the odd clanger, but Nunes offers so much more than a championship level trier getting in the way.

Apart from the pass he didn't have a terrible game. But he doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence as a defender, he seems to want to push people a lot which he got away with at the weekend and Bournemouth did it a lot but is usually given as a foul if spotted.

He also seems to go down a bit easy in possession and not always get a foul which is potentially dangerous in defensive positions.

Must say I felt more confidence in him when he was playing as a winger earlier in the season.

He is a truly terrible defender and very inconsistent. He was diabolical in the first half at Bournemouth but played well in the second half in an advanced position. Totally frustrating.

Soft as shite and should be no where near our team but we’ve been managed so poorly that we’re debating whether he is an asset or not. Diabolical.

The obsession and experiment in turning him into a right back needs to stop. Might get away with playing him Wednesday night but he should be no where near the derby as the Argentinian midget will give him a right burning. I’d play Kushanov on the right with Dias and Gvardiol as centre backs and let O’Reilly push on.
