He looked absolutely gutted after the game. He cares a lot.
I thought he was pretty good overall and contributed to a more energetic performance. I liked his determination to chase back and his physicality. I don’t know what will happen with him next season if we buy a specialist right back but in terms of effort and performance there have been many worse than him this season.

You're right. Dias' response to the pass - backing off instead of stepping forward into the ball - led to it running into their forward's path.

Don't think the pass was ideal, and we've seen that kind of pass in that kind of position from Nunes before, but Dias could have done better.
It’s not like Guardiol is immune to the odd brain fart. Both players have been amongst our best this season. Dias was slow in thought and deed. His reaction was pretty poor and resulted in Nunes looking gutted when actually he had a bloody good game.

Yep he makes mistakes but Dias makes a mistake every game in how he chooses to deal with a long ball never meets it lets it drop and gets turned a lot! Dias has a lot of credit in the bank is why he gets ignored! I'd get rid but we need his dressing room experience at Moment

Problem is he has errors at some point during games.

At the highest level (cos thats what we judge players on, as we compete at the highest level) nunes is not good enough as the main full back - squad player at best
There is not a single player in the team that does not make errors.
Not one player has 100% pass completion, for example.
It is unfortunate that we focus only on the errors made by certain players.

I remember Gerard Houlier speaking of the recruitment of players. He spoke of how he looked only at the strengths of the players - what they could do - because every player had to bring something different. Once you do that, things start to make sense. You accept that Kev will have the lowest completion stats because he plays with more ambition and will deliver the greatest number of key passes, just as one example. You accept that Jack will not have the same stats as Doku, for example, who has world-leading dribbling stats, but is not the player to use when you are protecting a lead.

Nunes has had a really good season. He has created and defended well. He has pace and athleticism and excellent crossing ability.

Nunes had a fantastic game going against Bournemouth only to spoil it all with an idiotic pass that led to Bournemouth's goal.

He's our best option at RB currently and I think he'll make a valuable addition to our squad next season. That said, I hope we sign a more reliable, first-choice RB for next season.

If he's here next season, I'd like to see him get a crack at right wing. That way he doesn't have too much responsibility defending and can focus on getting forward providing width. He'd certainly be more interested in picking his head up to whip a cross in than Savinho and has a better shot on him.
