Zinny was horrendous defensively.

Yes he had his moments but don't forget for a second we lost the CL final in Porto because he didn't cover his man.

Infact an argument can be made.. Nunes brings more accurate crosses to Haaland so he's not a total disaster.
He had 20 chances to cross Sunday and chose to pass it back to Akanji most of the time for fuck sake. It's on Pep this though for playing him there in the first place.

Only he knows
pace which sadly is enough to be ahead of lewis who offers pretty much nothing noteworthy as a rb. nunes also contributes more offensively but his greatest advantage is his recovery speed.

in my eyes akanji should play rb. could also see pep trying khusanov or reis there but it's a guessing game.

The problem was that we were playing a 2-3 at the back, with BOTH FBs inverted alongside Stones in the first half.

In the second half, that middle 3 completely changed and the game changed with it.

When Akanji went off, I’m sure Pep thought Lewis offered the better inverted option over anyone else. The problem was that when he came on, Madrid parked their wingers, esp Vini, on the touch line and forced our FBs to defend their wingers. THAT is when Rico got skinned multiple times and they picked up early second half momentum.

seems like completely out of favour now , will be gone in the summer , pep does not fancy him

Which is on Pep. He has actually had good progression as an attacking RB.

There is a player there to give minutes to to rest the other tired legs, but Pep gonna Pep.

Sad you could say that about a couple others as well.

yep, frozen out a bit these days. guess if we have more injuries to Gvrdiol and Ake he might turn up at LB still or RB if after Akanji, Khusanov gets injured too, but other than that it will be limited minutes for him.
Plymouth up next for him.

Pep doesn’t rate him or he’d play more. He’s not going to be easy to ship out so might just be around next season

Wonder how many consecutive games he has actually played in his proper position, especially when the likes of Bernardo, Gundogan and Kovacic have been shuffling up and down the park?
