Only if the LB is attacking wide or inverted.

I never want to see Khusanov invert or be the wide option. I always want him at the back.
Oh sure, we need him centrally, but I was impressed with him at the Bernabeu. He even got forward into some really good positions.

Still, Nunes was fine today. Forest didn’t really attack us until he went off.

I didnt like that Pep had him doing that at Madrid.

He did fine, but Id have preferred if he could stay back.

Agree regarding Nunes. Was totally fine, all the subs made us worse, I mostly blame Pep for the loss.

More examples of people with their minds made up seeing whatever suits them.

Nunes was fine. Marshalled Elanga well, rightly subbed off to eliminate the threat of a red after taking a yellow he had to take to stop a counter, we were poorer when he went off. Not even close to the problem today.

He's not a defender in a million years, and shouldn't be playing there. He's just not good enough to be playing in any position at top level.

Not his fault though, it's down to poor scouting, planning by Txiki's team. He was simply a panic buy that hasn't paid off.

File under Kalvin Phillips, Scott Sinclair, and Jack Rodwell. Money down the drain.

He's not a natural defender but he could become a defender imo. He's got all the physical attributes and he's doing well considering he's been thrown into a completely alien position. Got a great cross on him too if we ever decided that was something worth using. His rashness needs to be worked on as a priority, can't be trusted not to do something stupid on a yellow but he's working hard to do his best for the side. He's in the top 3 for assists this season despite a bit part fullback role. He's nowhere close to being in the same category as those mentioned. He simply wouldn't be playing if he was.

He was good in RB+RW. Not so much in RB+DM.
It's a new position for him. I mean Defence midfield.

I'd personally stop this inverting stuff with Nunes.

Like its fine, he does a decent job, and I get that Savinho is preferred to hold the width on the right.

But Foden, or Bobb, and maybe also Savinho could also play like an inverted RW at times with an attacking fullback. Same with Gvardiol on the left.

The same Couto who is completely flopping in Dortmund ?
He is a better and more natural rb than Nunes and we had him here at the start of the season so there was no financial outlay.
He wasn't too bad at Girona last season.
There are a few of our current players who are not exactly setting the world alight either.

In fairness, he’s been injured and is adjusting to a new country and league. Were he truly ‘flopping’, I suspect Dortmund would not have triggered the clause ahead of schedule.
I suspect they didn't have a choice. For accounting purposes or whatever reason they triggered the clause but it was happening regardless. It's not because of his performances is it.

Your telling me Nunez couldn’t of done the role what was asked of Gundo today?

I don't know about Gundo but what's scary is we had more control of the Nottingham Forest game with him at the RB/ DM position than we did with Rico in that game and the one yesterday vs Brighton.

Maybe he's not preferred but his performance isn't as bad as others at the moment.

And he's also our 4th leading creative player this season. That's despite him often being on the bench.
