second goal's on him. as the pass to lo celso came through I think everyone in the team expected him to close the shot down or at least make it harder for lo celso, but he did not notice it was his job to do that. I think ederson was just as surprised that he now has a 1v1 on his hands because of Dias' lack of proper defending there, very disappointing.

The second goal is on Mahrez for giving the ball away, and every midfielder who were fucking pathetic at “attempting” to get the ball back, and Walker who was having to recover from being out of position.

You can clearly see there's a player right next to him if he moved over and Laporte covered that space Don would of been through on goal.

Walker was up defending so you've got to ask why Mahrez is playing a shocking ball into the middle and not one of our midfielders seeing the danger

No? Even if there's a player behind him, the ONLY move that makes sense here is to run at lo celso. Even if you increase the chance he could slip a pass behind.

Dias positioned himself very poorly here and forced ederson into a 1v1 for no reason.

I suppose it's all about decisions, some you get right some you don't, there again sometimes you're forced into a mistake because of a team mate, always felt sorry for Distin. It's always easier too looking down from above, makes me laugh when I hear these pundits saying what they'd have done.

The second goal ends up in a three on two for Spurs. It happened throughout the entire game.

Did he make the wrong decision? I think so but the margin of error is practically non-existent when we are consistently outnumbered on every counter attack.

We will never, ever be a top team again if we allow our results to hinge on a couple of players making zero errors and overcoming the odds in every single game.

It's simply not realistic.

I thought the same watching it the 1st time but now I think somewhat the opposite. I think Dias is surprised that Ederson comes rushing out and turns what is a promising attacking situation, into a one-on-one situation. Lo Celso is very vide and if Eddie stays at home the move ends in either a speculative shot, or more likely a crossing situation in which Dias is pretty well positioned to cover. There is no reason for Eddie to come rushing out there.

I'm so glad we have him. I"m just so much more confident w/ our defense due to the recent signings. Feel like we have that foundation that will enable us to focus on other areas of the squad for the next few seasons!
