I suspect he's getting more games so that he can get up to speed with the Guardiola way of playing. We've not seen too much in his passing game as of yet.

But another extremely solid game for him. Long may it continue.

How old is he? He’s absolutely fucking mustard.
Just 23 I think.

Looks the dogs so far. For added context, I doubt he’s even had two proper training sessions since he came because of the number of games plus the international breaks.

There was a Benfica fan that came on here when we signed him that said he doesn’t look quick but he never seems to get done for pace. He definitely has a turn of pace, but perhaps him not seemingly getting done is partly because his positioning is excellent.

He’s massively improved the first XI and not enough of our recent signings have done that.

I would love to be able to be able to watch him from my usual East Stand eyrie and see what he is doing off the ball. He's really been quite unobtrusive so far, in a good way.

He's not the new Vinnie (no one could be) but he may share some key qualities, including leadership and that wonderful knack of making those around him play better.

Early days of course but he has slotted into the side rather well so far.

I agree. There’s this constant want for the next (insert name). He’s looks a very different central defender to Kompany in lots of ways, but thus far he appears to share one very important quality in that the defence looks like a defence when he plays.

Compared to those that played right centre back last season I no longer fear the worst when the ball is on that side of the pitch or at the feet of our player. All big plus points!
