Dias will be hurting after that and I'm sure he'll react. Laporte meanwhile seems to me to lack that moral strength that will motivate Ruben .
Do you support City mate? because this is part of your third post and you're slagging off one of our players and also questioning Pep, the best manager in the world's abilty to pick our team. A team who has the best defensive record and is top of the fucking league! On the left of his partnership with Stones has proven to be his best position, so play him there; there’s no point in shafting both him and Stones to accommodate Laporte after he had a tantrum. Pep should just restore their partnership as the default for the rest of the season and next - sell Laporte and replace him with a veteran who’s happy to be the 3rd/4th choice.
He’s proved over the past 18 months he’s elite level. One bad performance in fuck knows how long doesn’t change things.
He is only 24 for god's sake - he is nowhere near his peak. He's been with us for a season and a half for most of which he has played at a very high level. So saying his personality overshadows his ability is not really based on any facts. It sounds like an emotional reaction to what was a gutting defeat.
Agree - he’s a Carragher or Terry-type defender who’s mentality takes them higher than their mobility or natural talent would/should.

Guardiola’s attitude seems to be if it ain’t broke, break it; Sane wide left Sterling wide right in 2017-18 facilitated the best football we’ve played under him and won us the league, yet that summer he buys Mahrez, shifts Sterling left and shafts Sane. Then last season, the title success was build upon the Stones-Dias platform with Foden wide left….so what does he do? Fuck them all over this season by seldom playing them in the same roles.
It’s not one bad performance. It’s my opinion on him over the last 18 months. I can hardly state it when he has fuck all to do in 7-0 and 4-0 wins agains Leeds and Norwich can I?
I can when he comes up against elite forwards as he did on Saturday.
I didn't know that. Not illogical at all. Didn't Stones go through something similar 2 years back? Although his was a bit more...self inflicted if I recallIt's illogical, but since he broke up with his girlfriend - his form / confidence started to decline :D
As it appears, it's important to have a balance between the social life and career, that "Whiplash type" career-oriented individuals in the end are more vulnerable to the failure, than the people who try to somehow have the both..
It's like Maslow's pyramid everywhere, as a human being - you need relationships as well..
What does age have to do with anything or the fact that he’s not near his peak?
Where have I said he’s not been very good for us or hasn’t played a a high level for us?
Where have I said that I don’t value his contributions to the squad and success of it?
All I have said is I don’t believe he’s an elite defender and neither did the club at one stage considering he was 3rd choice.
There’s nothing wrong with having an opinion that one of our players isnt one of the best in the world. What next? Accused of having an emotional reaction by saying Zinchenko is nowhere near the standard of Roberto Carlos?
