On the left of his partnership with Stones has proven to be his best position, so play him there; there’s no point in shafting both him and Stones to accommodate Laporte after he had a tantrum. Pep should just restore their partnership as the default for the rest of the season and next - sell Laporte and replace him with a veteran who’s happy to be the 3rd/4th choice.
Do you support City mate? because this is part of your third post and you're slagging off one of our players and also questioning Pep, the best manager in the world's abilty to pick our team. A team who has the best defensive record and is top of the fucking league!

I know people have their own opinions but if you really think Pep is picking Laporte because "he had a tantrum" then you need to give your head a wobble because that and the rest of what you said here is a fucking joke!

I don't understand why the fundaments which lead to the success of the last season - were ruined...

1) Stones - Dias partnership...

2) Foden as a LW, instead of rotating him everywhere and thus, making him less settled and less productive

3) Rodri-Bernardo-Gundogan midfield

4) KDB as a False9

But there are times this season, when Pep sticks to these fundaments and everything is ticking like they should be.

I think this Tottenham loss should be like the "Wake Up Call" for everyone and Pep should stick to his best line-up once again... I'm sure it will get the results..

But I have a feeling that Pep is somehow preparing for the "big name striker" and therefore - he tries to build a new system.. For example style of game we played this Saturday - suited "Haaland like" striker more and if we had him, maybe we could even score 4-5 goals without any problem, at certain point our possession was like 90% and commentators were laughing at the Spurs and Conte.

But until we have that "new big name forward" - I think it's illogical not to stick to the old game plan..

He’s proved over the past 18 months he’s elite level. One bad performance in fuck knows how long doesn’t change things.

It’s not one bad performance. It’s my opinion on him over the last 18 months. I can hardly state it when he has fuck all to do in 7-0 and 4-0 wins agains Leeds and Norwich can I?

I can when he comes up against elite forwards as he did on Saturday.

He is only 24 for god's sake - he is nowhere near his peak. He's been with us for a season and a half for most of which he has played at a very high level. So saying his personality overshadows his ability is not really based on any facts. It sounds like an emotional reaction to what was a gutting defeat.

What does age have to do with anything or the fact that he’s not near his peak?

Where have I said he’s not been very good for us or hasn’t played a a high level for us?

Where have I said that I don’t value his contributions to the squad and success of it?

All I have said is I don’t believe he’s an elite defender and neither did the club at one stage considering he was 3rd choice.

There’s nothing wrong with having an opinion that one of our players isnt one of the best in the world. What next? Accused of having an emotional reaction by saying Zinchenko is nowhere near the standard of Roberto Carlos?

Agree - he’s a Carragher or Terry-type defender who’s mentality takes them higher than their mobility or natural talent would/should.

Guardiola’s attitude seems to be if it ain’t broke, break it; Sane wide left Sterling wide right in 2017-18 facilitated the best football we’ve played under him and won us the league, yet that summer he buys Mahrez, shifts Sterling left and shafts Sane. Then last season, the title success was build upon the Stones-Dias platform with Foden wide left….so what does he do? Fuck them all over this season by seldom playing them in the same roles.

I don’t think we have an outstanding centre half. We have three excellent ones. They all have something missing that stops them from becoming an elite defender.

All defenders have bad days, it happens. The whole of our defence was a shambles, not just him.

It's illogical, but since he broke up with his girlfriend - his form / confidence started to decline :D

As it appears, it's important to have a balance between the social life and career, that "Whiplash type" career-oriented individuals in the end are more vulnerable to the failure, than the people who try to somehow have the both..

It's like Maslow's pyramid everywhere, as a human being - you need relationships as well..
I didn't know that. Not illogical at all. Didn't Stones go through something similar 2 years back? Although his was a bit more...self inflicted if I recall

Yep, that was quite a story at the start of the season and since then his form has declined, not as Rock Solid as he was in the first season, because still he plays at a very high level, it's not just as good as it was during last season:

You need to chill, bud. You sound angry.
