Too much blame on his shoulders, Vs Liverpool he played well because our shape was compact, vs Leipzig both our #8s pushed high up which meant Rodri had to push up and Dias and Akanji were isolated, defending in wide areas is not his strength (too aggresive), although his decision making has been poor recently he's still our best defender and leader, we need to sort out our shape/personnel because most of our issues stem from the two #8 posistion and our lack of control there.

The way Ruben got turned for the 2nd goal was completely out of character for him and his form this season has been sketchy to say the least! He may have stuff going on in his personal life though or just a form blip but he has more than enough credit in the bank since he has been here and will get back to his imperious best soon, no doubt with Stones alongside him .

He'd probably benefit from a few games on the bench, he's not undroppable right now and the whole backline could do with a switch around. Ake at left back and Gvardiol at CB with Akanji can't be any worse.

Something going on off the pitch? Saw he was in the papers with a new girlfriend recently
Get Jonny boy fit and playing. That will help a lot to get back to where we were as a defensive unit last season.

On a side note has anybody seen Rodri give the ball away so much? That was just , if not more, concerning than Ruben and Ankanji's poor showing.

I've seen him have poor games like that (usually vs spurs) its very rare but it just means he's knackered. He's basically our quarterback, everything goes through him and he needs help from his midfield partner which he didnt get yesterday until the last 15 mins when Rico dropped deeper.
