3 year contract for Mancini

You can buy the best player, but you can't buy collective experience

Perhaps we had to go through this experience to go forward again? It's not been that bad anyway.

I don't think you should give up on this season either. May seem unlikely, but if we match Utd's result at home to QPR this weekend, then I believe we will go on to be Champions.

Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea have been caught and passed. We are close to Utd, and they are one of the top sides in Europe with huge resources.

And don't take the manager's "erratic" work through the prism of the back page and the press conference. They can make anyone look erratic

It worries me greatly that in the crucial moments of the season, the manager is being undermined from within and the supporters are being prepared for change.

I've not given up on the title, win Sunday, and it's on.

But Mancini continues to make wild and bold predictions about results and outcomes, instead of getting on with it.

As for his erratic work, I don't need to be guided by the back pages.

He has made continual half-time substitutions in recent weeks because he gets it wrong from the outset.

Erratic is also saying we would win the title if we were top going into February.

Erratic is saying we would win the league, last month, despite starting to slide.

Erratic is saying we won't win the league if we lose on Sunday.

Erratic is saying he can't trust Balotelli just 48 hours before the Sunderland game, yet started with him.

Mourinho out! ?

You can't leave it at that, bud.

I want your P.O.V from your location. The chattering classes, what observers are making of this title run-in?

I am not really interested in these throw-away comments.

As for the team selection, I think we've been missing a lot of players in recent weeks. Key players like Barry, Nasri, Kompany, Lescott, Aguero would be missed by anyone.

We went out of the FA Cup because of a refereeing decision which in turn impacted on the League Cup semi played 48 hours later. There are elements of "luck" in football which you should allow for. We went through the 1st half of the season with all our players available (except tevez) now we have the bad luck to lose a lot of players at one time, and at a crucial time. You take Rooney out of Utd's team, I think Ferguson's team selection might start to look erratic

Do you not think there might be a reason for that Marvin?
Yes. But whose to say those pulling the strings know what they are talking about. Abramovic made and then is half of the way to destroying his toy.

Itis difficult to be objective when you are wrapped up in the season, and see everything through the eyes of a supporter with no real insight as to what's going on, but if strings are being pulled, I think they should be done quietly. Perhaps it has zero impact, but when we're just 5 points off the title, with Utd at home it all seems a little inappropriate

I remember City beating Leeds 4-0 at Maine Rd in the closing weeks of the season, and then Leeds went on to win the title from a Utd team who thought they were Champions.

A couple of seasons we could only dream about being in this position. Do we appreciate it? Seems we take the wins for granted, and each defeat or draw is mulled, and chewed over and regarded as the end of the world. I can still remember the despair of our relegations and looking on at Utd a million miles from us laughing at us. now they fear us regardless of what they may say

I watched their game at Blackburn, and it was endless songs about City. I have never ever heard that at a City game. They take us more seriously that we do

Chelsea got an invite to the top table which they have dined at ever since because of Mourinho. The British press practically cum in there knickers when he is around. He understood that getting the press on side helps

This is simply NOT FECKIN TRUE and it's a total myth that Chelsea were nowhere before Mourinho. I wish people would stop repeating it because you just look foolish! Chelsea were ALREADY in Europe. Mourinho started at a much more improved position with Chelsea than Mancini did with us, so FFS give Mancini some credit.

Chelsea had already been in the Champions League for a few years BEFORE Mourinho came to the club, in the year before Mourinho was appointed manager they were in the Champions League SEMI-FINALS, so by definition they were already 'dining at Europe's top table'. In the year before Mourinho was manager they also finished SECOND in the Premier League, AHEAD OF MANCHESTER UNITED. Arsenal won the League, Chelsea 2nd and United 3rd.

So to pretend Chelsea were a bunch of naives is not true, they were already competing strongly in the League and Europe BEFORE Mourinho. They already had the experiences as a club and as players that we have not. I'm not taking anything away from Jose, he clearly pushed them that little bit further to actually win the Trophy's but to suggest they were not already at the highest level is not true and it does Mancini a dis service because he has been constantly improving City, starting from a lower base than Mourinho at Chelsea.

Congratulations on complete fucking missing my point you toon

Make yourself clear then. Players, and managers win games on the pitch and training ground. Back page comment and press tittle-tattle doesn't win football matches.

Mourinho is a master of his trade, but the way he handles the press is just an amusing side-show. He'd be ridiculed if he talked the talk about the special one, and couldn't produce a winning team. Noel Edmonds is a smooth operator in front of the camera, but he couldn't manage a football team. Just so happens that Mourinho can do both

Ferguson is the most successful manager and he is arguably the worst manager in front of the cameras and watching media.

Yes well Mourinho will always talk the talk because he can walk the walk. My point was he got the press on Chelsea side rather than against them which they were with the "moneybags" title which we inherited. So he went in charmed the pants off of the media got them on side and then took all the flack and lets the players just play. Its not hard its just that Mancini is terrible at it

Think he has to stay as we have certainly improved year on year its just annoying that this season we have fell away so badly. Next year we will be stronger mentally and pysically with extra players and better tac tics. Plus his a proper bloke
