We don't even pass back to him anymore(unless vs aggressive front pressers) as all our outfielders are good on the ball.

I know it’s facetious but its another weapon teams have nullified. They dont press anymore so he doesn’t kick. Most of time he just rolls it out to Dias or Laporte.
not totally culpable but a top goalie wouldn’t have been beaten so easily for the first. He made it easier not more difficult for son.

id give steffen a go. Players need to be held accountable. Competition for places is healthy.

Said it for months now. And said it on here a few times. He just doesnt save enough shots.
Bravo was slaughtered for his shots to saves ratio but ederson has seemed to get away with it ...
It just happens to many times.
1 shot 1 goal.
Great passer ...yes.
Great keeper ...no.

What in gods name are you talking about. Two good finishes? The first one he made sons mind up, cancelo had covered and he comes rushing out like a brain dead oaf.
He has been good for us but he doesn’t save much when called upon and that’s becoming more and more apparent.

Ederson, Guardiola and any other player or staff who have had successes in the past are not above criticism, that attitude is detrimental to the club and allows complacency to set in which is quite clearly happening right now.

You can’t compare him to other keepers because he plays differently to them, much in the same way our fullbacks do different things to any others in the league.

The high line dictates Ederson starts further from his line than anybody else would in another side. If he doesn’t come rushing out for the first goal sons got an easy chip into the net because Ederson’s starting position wouldn’t be on his line and he wouldn’t be close enough to the ball to make any attempt to block it. He either comes out or gets caught out in no mans land. It’s a tactical weakness in our game it’s not an Ederson weakness.

Ederson did nothing wrong today, Put any other keeper in there, they’ll be told to do exactly the same thing. any keeper playing for Pep will always come out in those situations and they’ll likely be dropped if they don’t.

Have been a big fan of Eddie but no denying he was poor today. I remember our goal being absolutely peppered vs Spuds away. One of Joe Harts very best games. Finished 0-0. Two years running, a couple of goals in each game = 2 goals scored. The lad has to improve and fast. I wonder how good our gk coaching is.

Was a bit rash today with the first goal, but I don’t think Ederson is really the problem.
