I love the guy, but I can’t blame Tite when he decides Allison should be our main World Cup keeper.
Neither are convincing to be fair. Brazil will be a lot closer than England in winning the World Cup but will not win it with either keeper (and that is with my bias with Eddy)

We might. It’s not like Lloris is better than either

First goal he's questionable, he's come to take the ball in and can reasonably expect dias to be infront of the madrid player to shield him off if not clear it himself but he's not. I've not watched it back to say whether he had time to see Dias wasn't where he should be but I'm inclined to say he didn't given it was a first time cross. even if he actually does have time to see that and we can say he has to spread himself towards the ball instead of trying to claim it, cancelo playing them onside for the chip into Benzema and then Dias being too slow to react are much bigger errors for that goal than Ederson. Second goal if anybody wants to claim he did anything wrong there then they clearly know fuck all but it fits this messed up obsession that's growing amongst the morons so let's just blame him anyway.

All the "he doesn't make saves" brigade are completely ignoring the excellent save he made at the death that allowed it to go to extra time. Not his fault that wasn't critical in the end.

Courtois made one notable save over the two legs, and that was with his feet by the way... He was very questionable for at least 2 of our goals first leg and didn't make a notable save during that game, only poor finishing from us stopped him conceding about 8. Tonight he inexplicably let Grealish have a tap in with a huge fuck up only for Grealish to fuck it up even more and let him off the hook. Utter bollocks

Second goal went in here. Maybe it's not his fault, but it's not top-corner unsaveable. I'd say a top keeper saves that. Especially when you need them to.

Courtois made 8 saves tonight. Some might have looked routine but Ederson would have struggled/let them in.

It's Ederson defenders tendency to massively overate his saves too, every match thread. Same in your post. You've said he made an excellent save because a Madrid player hit him into his upper arm from an improbable nearpost angle. Should be sacked if he had conceded there.
You can't just say ederson let's in those shots he didn't face based on absolutely nothing because it suits your argument and it becomes fact. It discredit your argument if anything because its a stupid suggestion, they were largely very basic saves that the eds reserve keepers of any decent side save 99 times from 100. Bigger numbers mean nothing. How many of those saves were anything but routine? To save time, the answers one, the save I mentioned with his feet. everything else was bog standard. blaming ederson for not making bog standard saves because we restricted them to no efforts until extra time is highly illogical.

Huge part of goalkeeping is what happens before the save, positioning, reactions, decision making etc he's out like a flash and narrowed the angle to the point where he's made it almost impossible to score by the time he shoots. The save itself isn't what's excellent it's the whole piece of goalkeeping that's excellent. He made a similarly good save against benzema at 0-0 too before the flag went up afterwards.

That's a very misleading screenshot. It's fizzed into the box and taken a deflection before hitting the head that's put it in from about 10 yards out. It doesn't need to be top corner to be unsaveable, nobody is saving that, nobody.

When I think of super Joey Hart in the Nou Camp when he saved us from an absolute thrashing …. it pains me cos Ede is consistently dreadful in the biggest games.

hes pretty good with his feet but yeah i dont trust his ability on 1 vs 1 or think hes a particularly good shot stopper. Hes a good but not excepcional keeper for peps style either (valdés was a beast 1 vs 1 and a very capable shot stopper, bad with his feet. neur was an all around beast)
