Did he make a world class save from scamacca or did I just imagine it? Can't see f'all in the west ham stadium and I don't watch MOTD or anything. I haven't see anything in Twitter so maybe it was just routine.

He did, but it was flagged offside afterwards, therefore not a chance and forgotten as a result.

WOW, incredible comments for an outstanding player and a man that has single handedly completely changed the art of goalkeeping.
Changed GK? Not even close. He is the best with his feet, and a great at cutting attacks, but if he wasn't with us, most would probably mock him for his shot-stopping abilities. Neuer changed the art of GK, and are you implying that Ederson is at Neuer level historically? Everyone would laugh at that statement. Ederson is like Walker, a limited, but super important player for the way we play, and that doesn't mean we cannot criticize their shortcomings and still be grateful for what they bring to the team.

No one woul say Walker is as good as Alves, Lahm, Carlos Alberto, Cafu...just like Ederson will never be close to Yashin, Neuer, Buffon, Maier, Banks, Zoff... both in quality and in how he changed GK.

"Changed GK? Not even close" Sorry, very close, maybe you haven't noticed the number of PL keepers and keepers down through the leagues that have been copying his style over the past 4/5 years.
"but if he wasn't with us, most would probably mock him for his shot-stopping abilities" that's just negative speculation, the alternative and equal possibility is if he played behind a poor defence elsewhere he might make numerous top class saves. We can criticise his perceived "shortcomings" but no need to exaggerate them.
"Ederson will never be close to Yashin,Neuer, Buffon, Maier, Banks, Zoff... both in quality and in how he changed GK" fair enough that's your opinion, but it is not a reasonable comparison, 1. because none of those keepers had some of the strengths Ederson has and 2. he is barely at the half way stage of his career so it is pointless to compare with any keepers whose careers are over or nearly over. Let's judge his place in football history when his career is history.

Lo l

A top drawer keeper, perfectly suited to the style of play we have chosen.
He would change the style of play for any team he played for, for the better.

In big games when he sees the ball more, it’s like we have an extra outfield player to the opposition.

Very well said.

Super critics are a bit slow off the mark today, who'll be first to point out how many passes he failed to complete or examples of his inability to make saves. Tough day for the experts.

All it does is build up a tidal wave for when we eventually concede. The moment we do, they'll be a flood of "never makes a save" posts.

This is what being a goalkeeper for City involves.

We’re in a match and our keeper has to perform routine stretches so as to not get injured when he has to move. We’re elite.

My money's on him being the player who spends the highest percentage of games wondering what he's going to have for dinner.

Just an observation here, after the Villa game at the end of season, Ederson did not look himself, normally a very effervescent personality, permanent smile etc, just watched the tunnel cam of the Bournemouth game, same thing, he just looks very down and quite.

The guy is a wonderful keeper and great character, I am sure there are no issues but it does look like he has changed personality wise, maybe just maturing?

He’s literally made two saves so far this season.

He’s absolutely not done anything wrong. I’m just making the point that it’s hard to judge or state that he’s become some sort of shot stopping machine in the closed season. But our defence (of which he’s a part of) has been epic so far and not allowed many chances.
