Neat and tidy against opposition that were devoid of any passion.

Would i trust him to replace Rodri and ensure this team does not drop its standard? no

Went to Arsenal and failed - not good enough for City

My point this guy have a career with us for several years and not immediately get sold in his first year with us what makes you think Philips will not repeat the same thing that happened with Zinchenko?

You never know maybe he will improve next season and be a better player than before.

Can’t be expecting him to be rampaging around the pitch and diving into challenges in such a sterile game. We need him on the pitch to rest others, so too much aggression would be counterproductive. Neatly and quietly will do this week.

Needs 10 consecutive games to get up to speed, so he’d better be fit and raring to go come August.

decent showing? good game? what match was I watching?

nice lad but we nearly conceded 3 times because of ihm
93,5% pass accuracy. That's gold standard, some of his long forward passing was outstanding. In comparison, Rico Lewis had 86% pass accuracy. Anyway, defensively he was a bit slow, I agree, but maybe it can be improved upon, Pep will know best.

He's not a CDM for me, positionally poor and weak in the tackle though he has a decent passing range, could work as CM with Rodri but very difficult to start over Gundo if he stays, I guess we'll see next season.

He just needs to understand, acclimate, and be given the opportunity…a la Jack Grealish…THEN we can all make a determination on his upper level.

Whether it is sufficient, or not, remains to be seen.

In the meantime, let’s all enjoy him being a Premier League Champion, a seeming quality individual and squad member and hope he can press on to become what City need him to be.

As it stands, he CAN never be as good as the man for whom he is a current understudy, but sufficient when needed? The jury is out.

Not keen on stats without any context. How many passes did he make, and compare that to how many Rodri makes?

Also, he got caught on the ball 2 or 3 times in the 2nd half that could quite easily have resulted in goals.

Hope he can turn it round and get some confidence from somewhere, but he's the only player in the squad that shows next to nothing when he gets a chance.
