Mixed feelings, but Pep's "comments" were fairly direct, and he seems to be majorly pissed off. Kind of thinking he has one more chance. Pretty inexcusable to return back 'overweight'.

Really not good this.

Guardiola’s asking why he was allowed to get overweight while he was at the World Cup. But what if he actually wasn’t overweight when he was in Qatar, and he’s basically ballooned up since he’s been on holiday?

He’s an absolute amateur.
Easy done for us mortals but it shouldn’t be for him and it’s very unprofessional. I can’t even work out why he needed a break.

You’re posing a hypothetical question, but then castigating him anyway.

Was Kalvin overweight before the LC? Yes

Did Liverpool lose last night?
Yes

Did Liverpool fans behave appallingly? Yes

Is Kalvin’s weight the headline sports news? Yes
Come on mate, this isn’t some agenda nonsense - Guardiola made this back page news, and knowingly so.

Not really - it’s amateurish either way, whether he was overweight at the World Cup, or whether he’s put all the weight on during his break, during a short period of time.

An athlete knows whether they are carrying weight or not, and if he was heavy when his break started, then he should have been more careful during his time off. It’s not unreasonable to expect a professional athlete to weigh himself a few times during the course of a week.

Incidentally Guardiola appears to have been asking the same question in his press conference, namely how he managed to come back overweight if he was monitored properly during the World Cup.

Put him in the Eds for a week or two. I'm sure one of those midfielders is fit, raring to go and would jump at the chance of swapping for the 1st team squad.

The Athletic article on it says he's expected to be back under weight in less than a week, so I doubt he's going anywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if he played vs. Leeds, Pep started Mahrez 4 games in a row after telling the world he hadn't been playing because he wasn't in the right condition.
