4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Excellent start to the season.

Meh since then.

But improving.

I trust in Reijinders talent - he's off form and adapting to the P/L. He'll be world class once he adjusts his game IMO - perhaps later this season or sometime next.

If he was 24/25 it would be easier to give him the benefit of the doubt but at 27 you need to hit the ground running. Which he did then checked himself out since Wolves.

I thought he was better in the 1st half than he has been for a while. 2nd half he was back to his invisible best. I’m not having midfielders who just disappear.

Probably his best performance as an 8 although I have to caveat that by saying Brentford were not even trying to contest the midfield first half and so it was easy for him, like wolves. Second half we needed some bite, some composure and some control and he offered none of it. The sooner pep see's he can't play 8 yet, the better.

That's a hot bit of nonsense

Guys got 5/6 years of his prime left, hes not been bad in a team that's still adjusting

Fans expect rvery player to hit the ground running, regardless of age. Any player needs and adjustment period, modern fans are just the worst

Good today, Still feel like he's got no understanding with players around him, but will come.

He's been a bit unlucky at times.

He hit the post midweek
He couldn't produce the finishing touch that his brilliant solo run deserved in 1st half
He caught a volley almost perfectly, but it ended up down Kelleher's throat.

You can see glimpses of his quality in nearly every game. Hopefully it'll all come together for him at some point in time.

better game today.

but needs to really look at his defensive contribution as he seems to go missing when we are under pressure.
Wonder where he fits in the midfield picture now that Kovacic is fit. I can’t tell if Pep is playing Reijnders as an 8 and Foden as a 10 or if both of them are playing as 8s with some freedom to push up. Whatever it is, we definitely lose control around the hour mark and neither of them are robust enough to put challenges in when we’re under pressure.

Ive said repeatedly about Reijnders that he doesnt have defensive discipline at present at all and playing him centrally at present is leaving us light...he brings a lot offensively and you can see the same traits in him that Gundo had but he needs to add that defensive aspect to his game...picking up the second (loose) ball for instance....

Foden works his socks off at the very least
