4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

You can see the talent is there, it's just gelling with the team and composure in the final third. Sometimes he takes the chance on himself and ignores Haaland, other times he tries and fails to play in Haaland when he could have been better doing something himself.

He's come from a side where his direct running was an asset. In our side he has to learn that it's not always necessary and taking a touch and passing before running into space is the best thing he can do. Just needs to slow things down a little bit. But he'll get there.

Think he's done alight generally, considering he's just in the door having been playing Netherlands and Italy all his career.

Done a hell of a lot more than Wirtz has in the same time.
How true. Imagine if we'd have paid for Tiny Reindeers what they have for Wirtz. You would never have heard the last of it.

Like how he gets in position to have a shot on the goals eventually he will score, we need goals coming from all area’s and don’t get me started on Dias goal contribution from set pieces he is utter shite! He should be scoring at least 5 a season he hasn’t scored 5 in 3 years pathetic

He's doing OK. Sadly the weak link in our midfield is Bernado. He runs himself in to ghe ground but doesn't have the pace on the break.

On the positive. Foden seems on his way back.

1st thing coaches should tell him is getting his shots on target.
You just can't blow them all over the bar with full power. Schoolboy.

Precision does it and I'd always try LOW near post.

Kev knew it, low curlers near post.

Not getting at you here because you're one of many, but you were over the top one way on day 1 and now you're over the top the other. Truth is that he's been somewhere in-between generally, but when he scores it colours his whole performance. When he doesn't, or we don't get the result, then it's glass half empty time.

He's clearly got ability and tries to play with his head up. I think he's not exactly what people were expecting though. He isn't a younger Gundo, running games and getting forward. His style is more similar to Foden's in that he joins in in midfield, but then tries to crash the box to get on the end of stuff.

In some games it might be better to see him or Phil (ie. Phil) start, with the other on the bench.
Like I said in earlier post.

I watched serie A a lot last season when the PL went dull.

He looked class for Milan. Just set my expectations too high probably. Thought he'd fit in seamlessly here. Just what we needed. A silky midfielder.

Yes probably went over the top after seeing him v Wolves. Along with thousands of others who banged him into their fantasy football sides the day after. Lol.

He's trying to speed things up when others want to slow it down that's the problem. He's trying quick
Passes where as others want to keep control. That's where he's losing possession and making a few mistakes. He's always trying to up the tempo in attack and he ends up losing the ball.

Thought he played well . He could easily have had 5 goals by now and the narrative would be completely different. I suppose we need a couple of fall guys as always.
Yeah, feels like in the last few games hes been a few inches away from a goal or two a game. Hes getting in those positions and actually attempting things which I will never hold against someone.

Got to admit, I put him in my PL team before the Wolves game and then thought I was into a winner after the match!

He may turn out great for us, it's early days. He's definitely more interested in going forwards than going backwards though.

I think kovacic might bench him for a couple of games you know. Doesn't mean Reijnders isn't quality, but I think he's hitting a bit of a wall atm and making a few poor decisions.

he is integrating better and better into the team, I really like his energy and his vertical game, moving forward with the ball quickly instead of going around in circles sterilely, but I didn't like when he shot on the crossbar when the game demanded that he pass to Erling who was alone and in a better position

I waxed lyrical about this lad.

Thought he'd absolutely destroy the PL.

Looks like i was wrong. Massive let down so far.

So disappointed.

Give it time. Even Rodri needed a season or two.

We knew we're in a rebuild.. it is going to take time but we have to be patient.

Again every time he plays I must be seeing a completely different performance than what the consensus of this forum seems to be. I truly don't get it. What games are people here watching?
