40,000 Iraqis stranded on Sinjar mountain

The Yazidis have a peacock angel as a religious symbol.

The Sunni's see the peacock as an agent of the devil, therefore they view the Yazidis as devil-worshippers.

Which is clearly fucking bonkers as fuck.

Fact remains - no group of people should be suffering oppression from their neighbours.
...unless they wear red and worship a little trident-carrying red devil.

We could send them a silver cleaning kit but they wont get to use it in the immediate future.

Do you know me?
Have you followed me around all my miserable existence on this planet?
How the fuck do you know i'v never protested against anything
As i said you havn't got a clue what i'v done or who i am so stop trying to be fucking clever

I said, this argument. If you can call it an argument. In general. Not specifically you.

I've seen what you wrote, repeated almost word for word in pubs by people who rarely venture further than between their front door and the vault of their local, getting worked up about why protesters from issue A don't feel strongly enough about issue B to protest about that also.

When the only things that would ever get them out on the streets would be if the pub burnt down.
Again you havn't got a fucking clue what i have done or who i am, i will just put it this way i was at it in the early 70s, you might have been just a spunk bubble then, but there again i will not presume anything as i don't know you either

Undies, to be fair, you do a get a bee in your bonnet about people protesting for things that you yourself don't believe in. I know, I've been at the end of one of your bitter attacks myself.

Isn't a healthy democracy all about people standing up for what they believe in? It's all part of a healthy dialogue.

They're not really human beings though so...

The Yazidis aren't Muslim though and they are the ones stuck up the mountain so you fucked that one up didn't you. Maybe you didn't know better.
No mate, you're the one who know better if you think this isn't a predominantly Shia/Sunni conflict. It absolutely is. Sinjar has been almost completely evacuated, it had a population of about 300,000, now reckoned to be about 25,000, a great deal of them being Shiites not just Yazidis, certainly a hell of a lot more Shiites than Christians, who've fled further into Kurdish territory. However, it should be adundantly clear that I'm not just talking about this specific event, or even just Iraq, but the whole sectarian dynamic across the Middle East because that's what it's actually about.
But the posted you replied to was specifically talking about this specific event.

I notice it on my Facebook, all my friends that were brought up in Qatar and are very right on were posting several times a day about Gaza and not one of them have ever mentioned the Sunni on Shia violence taking place in Syria and Iraq and still no mention or disgust at the treatment of the Yazidis so I fully empathise when people make mention of the fact the some people only seem to care when they can give Israel a kicking.
That will presumably be because Qatar supports Hamas and have until recently also supported ISIS.

As did our very own Foreign Secretary, a certain Mr Hague, when advocating supplying arms to a particular anti-Assad "freedom fighter" group... Which has now joined ISIS. We call them "terrorists" now though. And fucking muppets up and down the country lap it all up, oblivious to the double-speak and falling for it every time.

Wake the fuck up.
