40M Bid from Corinthians

if they want to use future revenues from a tv deal as the basis of the deal then they need to borrow the £40 million from Ocean Finance or whatever their equivalent is in Brazil and give us the cash up front

CASH plus sell on clause to reflect his true value then it looks like we might have a deal. Otherwise nah.

WTF is with this Corinthians situation?

Why would a Brazilan domestic club such as Corinithians sudddenly have enough money to pay a huge transfer fee and then wages of £200K a week. Kia is behind this. I think they're trying to force the hand of the likes of Juventus by lying their arses off in exchange for a bit of publicity etc. They're safe in the knowledge that doing this would not

Juventus may be a more realistic option. Speaking of Juventus, what about some sort of a swap deal? Have they got anyone we might want.

Please let this be a stand alone thread. It's a discussion about player's agents and their behaviour rather than Tevez himself.

We won't sell until we have a ready made replacement committed to signing with us.

It will not be easy to replace the likes of Tevez despite the counter arguments of being a one trick pony and possibly a negative influence within the playing group and lacking many of the leadership qualities required to take us to the next level.

His goal scoring record more than compensates for any baggage off the pitch and more importantly when he scores we win.

I would prefer we keep him for another season but if he wants out and has his mind set on that its better we move on without him and quickly find a way to find other avenues of finding the auld onion bag in his absence.

Why start a new thread and not just post this in with the already established thread

The bid appears genuine Pam and while its unlikely he will be on the same or a similar wage I doubt he will worry too much if he has to take a significant wage reduction.

Agents always bandy their clients to assist themselves as much as their client.

Kia will say one thing and do another depending on the mood Tevez is in at the time ( recently he was quoted as saying Tevez is going no where if I recall ).

If Tevez trusts Kia more than he does the City hierarchy which often appears to be the case then this circus will continue throughout his career.

You can be confident that if he ends up back in Brazil playing for his old club it won't be the last club he plays for before his playing days are through.

Re: WTF is with this Corinthians situation?

Pam i wish i knew, i think all of us would love it if they chucked the cash on cook's desk but i doubt they have the readies.
Hence the talk of "up to" and all that jazz.

Kia is defo the protagonist in all this yes, he is also dodgy as fook as you suggest.

In my opinion the Corinthians bid was and is bollocks from the off. Corinthians do not have £40m to pay for this deal and shelling out the full amount in one hit upfront is the only way this deal could be done by the Brazilian transfer deadline of 20th July.

Any deal that involves sponsorship from 3rd parties or percentage of future TV rights or whatever instalment package put up by Corinthians is going to be complex and City will go through any proposal with a fucking microscope and start insisting on bank guarantees against the proposed future income and the necessary underwriting for this sort of deal will not be done in 5 days.

Kia knows it has zero chance of being done in 5 days as do City - hell City would spend 5 days just reviewing the finished proposal and unless there is a finished proposal at the right price to consider City will not even entertain the idea. City will just make polite noises and run the clock down to the 20th.

After the 20th it will descend into lots of hair pulling, finger pointing and media stories about City denying Tevez his 'dream' - whatever the hell that is currently.

Stock up on popcorn and watch the fun unfold.

I agree with this point. Not only does this bid set a price for a European club to offer. It also gives Tevez a chance to say we refused to left him go be closer to home, now he just wants away from City. This again lowers the price of his transfer.

This is their plan, just want they are trying to do, lower his fee so he can move.

+1 Bob. It's clear now that City are embracing selling Tevez. They could certainly be feeding the fire with Kia to up the Juve offer.
