I think what's being missed here(in the last few pages at least), is how much having Big Stones next to him. The ability of having JS to bring calm and take charge instils confidence to the other defending partner to play, knowing that the defending position is as covered as it can be.

Akanji when fit, is similar, for me Dias is not. But maybe Reis and Dias would be a decent balance? I don't know.

I would much rather Stones see both Reis and Khusanov through their learning period than anyone else and those lads will come out in excellent form.

That's how confident I am.
Great point I noticed too. Pep picked good pairings for the new lads. Can almost see the confidence/reassurance khusanov gets playing alongside stones and I think stones is a great foil and guide for him.

Depends who is fit at CB. If Dias, Stones and Ake are available then I don't mind it.

But that's only because we're in a perpetual injury crisis. Long term, I don't think he's got much business being there.
Same for me and agreed he's a long term CB.

But he could be our only answer against Madrid. Khusanov, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol would be a decent defence.

Don't agree with Stones, it has shown over all of his years here he needs someone leading him. Not the other way round.

Happy for Khusanov and hope he gets more minutes and gets even better

Gvadiol was a centre back.

They could long term be our cb pair. It would help if we bought some full backs so we had players for these positions. But we are where we are.
Think it quite unlikely we see full backs on both sides, think Pep prefers 3 centre backs and one full back, with either the fullback, or one of the centre back able to drop in beside the pivot. It's no coincidence Lewis looks far better when he has a proper 6 playing as a pivot as we did against Newcastle.
Probably why Cambiaso was a target, he can play inverted full back from either sisde. So we could go with just Cambiaso and Lewis as full back options.

Starting to believe he will be an absolute top class centre half , just need to ensure we keep building his confidence game by game and have someone in his ear to prevent any rush of blood as he still looks like he likes a very full blooded tackle. Think all 4 signings seen so far have looked very good - Reis looks like a footballing centre half who is already very composed but will need to build himself up physically. Add Messi's love child in the mix , Bobb on his way back , Rodri to come back plus some summer signings and we will need to be putting an order in for more silver polish.

In a match thread you wrote Khusanov, Reid, Marmoush and Gonzalez off
I don't know who reid is or who you think you're commenting to but i think you might need to see a psychiatrist, you're hallucinating things
