True. You can also apply that thought to pretty much any decision ever made by anyone in any scenario that ever existed.
Possibly.
The bonus over the last few weeks has been stability plus Gvardiol playing centrally.
I'm a little apprehensive that with Akanji now match fit Pep might resort to playing him at CB and Gvardiol at LB again

We have had quite a lot of good fortune too in the last few weeks with the post bailing us out 7 times in the last 4 games. I’m not sure changing it to accommodate Akanji would neccesarily be a bad thing. O’Reilly is starting to look a bit vulnerable at Lb and when he and Nunes play it does leave us a bit open to that ball over the top.

Asking Khusanov to do Nunes role would be insane by Pep, hence why he isnt playing.

Khusanov, and to a degree Akanji are unlucky in that we are playing with only 2 CBs, and 2 wide athletic fullbacks.

I do think next season Pep goes back to making a back 3 (Pep is more defensive minded than people realize), which will mean Khusanov gets more minutes as the wide RCB.

Watching the Barca Inter game I realized that Pep's obsession with control is actually a negative tactic.
This iteration of Barca is you score 3 we'll get 4 and it makes for good viewing.

For what reason should pep go back if this tactic works? Is it because he is stubborn or just because ? Don’t see a reason to not play with 2 fullbacks. This fullback into central thing is just weakening is and is getting exposed clearly by other teams.

I juat have a gut feeling its not his long term plan, we have been lucky a few times on some counters.

I like it though.

What on earth has happened here. Why in the lad not playing?

Fans overrated his performances because he's quick and tough. For the same reason they underrated Rodri and thought he was never going to be good enough. Nunes is disliked by some fans because he is perceived as soft (a criminal offense in their book).

The potential is there but Khus is far from what Pep wants from a defender (which is very different from what many fans want). Given that he can't make the bench even without Ake and Stones being available suggests that one of the latter two is gone in the summer (don't think that both are going to leave but who knows).
