Kushanov will come good.
He needs to learn to read the game better and that will come by age. Now he uses his pace to cover up a mistake. And he needs to learn to control sliding tackles so he wont use them that often.

Finding his feet and looks the part already. Pep will love his will to still play out etc and little mistakes will happen as it does with all of our defenders at times but Pep NEEDS to stick with him currently as his confidence has risen already and his pace is vital to our backline.

Someone mentioned it earlier but his weight of pass was very good too.

In a couple of tight spots he was able to give the ball to players under pressure with real composure. Where a bobbly or too firm pass could've caused us a big problem under Newcastle's press.

I'm not getting too carried away just yet but he looks to have a bright future.

I think what's being missed here(in the last few pages at least), is how much having Big Stones next to him. The ability of having JS to bring calm and take charge instils confidence to the other defending partner to play, knowing that the defending position is as covered as it can be.

Akanji when fit, is similar, for me Dias is not. But maybe Reis and Dias would be a decent balance? I don't know.

I would much rather Stones see both Reis and Khusanov through their learning period than anyone else and those lads will come out in excellent form.

That's how confident I am.

Who else would you rather try to mark and stay with Vini Jr on Weds?

I think he has all the attributes to be useful there. Much like Akanji does a solid job there when needed.

Depends who is fit at CB. If Dias, Stones and Ake are available then I don't mind it.

But that's only because we're in a perpetual injury crisis. Long term, I don't think he's got much business being there.
